That “Leicester boys are we” dirge is the worst chant in world football. I’m not joining in singing that shite.

It is - and that on a Saturday - Leicester's the team for me - who comes up with this tripe

The song book is dreadful and thin these days.

Tbf every time they try to bring in a new one, people bin it off, decide there's too many words or sing in at a stupidly fast level

Easier said than done.

I'd happily protest at the direction being taken in many areas of the club but I fear there's as much apathy in physically doing so from a large portion of our fanbase profile as there is in match day support.

Probably true yeah

Should’ve expanded sometime between 2015-2019.

Club missed a huge opportunity.

I watched all the Forest fans go in last night, they were mostly hammered getting into the ground and mostly male between 15-55.

Some of their chants were really weird and their obsession with Derby is proper strange but cant fault their support inside the ground overall. Embarrassed us.

Honestly can’t win.

Im reading stuff like how they didn't sing their song for the keeper or Vardy. They certainly did.

‘Oh the song books crap’, so try two news ones but yeah they don’t want to get picked up on for some reason.

If that was is regard to my post then it’s the other way round, yes vardy and mads did get sung for but nobody else did. Mavididi hit a rather decent shot just wide but because Enzo is mentioned the song has gone walkabouts. I notice fatawu chant tried to at one point but because nobody knows whether to keep the original words or some alter it, it just fizzles out.

I think the feedback on ufs needs to be constructive criticism rather than a direct attack because let’s face it, without them the atmosphere would be like a friendly. People just standing there talking about what’s happening at the weekends and where they’re going for dinner. Last night ufs wasn’t the main issue, people just go there out of routine and sit on their hands with 20 layers on like it’s a February night and just want to watch the football.

I kind of think sometimes you are over complicating the songs.. it needs to be a well known one, everyone knows abba which is why the fatawu one took off, the Jamie vardy one everyone joins in with. It needs to be either a well known simple tuned football chant or a well known old song that can be simplified to a player.. we all know that anything in between with our fans just won’t work.
look at Crystal Palace, everyone’s familiar with vengaboys boom boom boom boom and everyone in the country now knows dancing in the dark done for foden.. It’s those songs you need to target. whether or not it’s covered by other clubs, it works.. just some tweaks that’s all..

Last year it was quiet because it was too easy. Now it is quiet because we are struggling.

The whole place is flat and stale. The fans could do more but why would they? Take your folded card and you are contributing.

Agreed on the songbook. I thought our "banter" chants were shit but the club related stuff pretty decent. Now even that has declined.

And here we have the number one reason why our fanbase is as sh1t as it is.. give over with this nonsense.. it’s derby day, no excuses I’m afraid

Nonsense?? You honestly. don’t think that home support at all clubs is not influenced by what’s going on actually on the pitch? It’s absolutely the same everywhere. When things are going well OR the team is fighting then the crowd will back them. Neither scenario occurred in the 2nd half last night. An away support is always loud when the away team is in the game. All of the fans are concentrated into one area and many will be well lubricated by kick off time. Forest are in form and outplayed us. Their fans were great because of this. When Forest were shafted 4-0 at ours a couple of years ago their fans were understandably crap by the end of the game.

Was slightly surprised we didn't do more for the crash remembrance. Would've been a great way to have the whole home crowd in full flight

This is what proves the "it's the songbook" excuse wrong.

People don't even sing for Vichai anymore. UFS didn't start it so it didn't get sung.

For a derby, on a Friday night after 2 consecutive wins, the atmosphere was nothing short of appalling from our fans last night. Just never got going at all. Fair play to that lot, their end was very good, reflecting that they are enjoying their best top flight form for over 30 years.

Remove the virus and the stadium will come alive again.

As soon as a actual Manager is signed that's when the atmosphere will improve rapidly.

Yesterday it was like a library the only people that could be heard with the Forest fans

That was said about Rodgers too and likely Puel before him.

It all boils down to effort. We are there to support the football club, the bloke managing the players just shouldn't dictate if fans want to sing.

Do you believe they might have upped their tempo if they felt a bit of love from the crowd? I do..

Exactly, when we were in the top 4 under Rodgers it was shit then too. There’s a complete difference in mentality to other clubs similar to our size. I don’t know what it is but it’s a clear difference.

The crowd tried to lift them when we conceded again but there was nothing coming from the players. As I said, to continually chant and cheer during that second half required a good set of beer goggles. They were very poor and gave no hope at any point of getting back in the game. I can’t even remember a shot at goal in that second half.

Have to agree totally with this, the onus is on the players. Felt like they didn't even try after forests second and definitely didn't after the third. They were lucky not to receive a torrent of abuse from the fans given that performance, against that opposition. Especially cooper, who probably lapped up the plaudits from his x supporters like a thirsty dog lost in the desert!

People often talk about the 29,000 not

contributing, but we don’t even need that - just a functioning end and I’d be happy. Our vocal sections are so dispersed. There’s often 3 songs going on at once, all separated by sections of very little signing, so none get going properly and all 3 fizzle out.

Germany is often praised for its atmosphere, but if you look around the stadium, they have fantastic home ends, and usually very little going on in the other stands (including things that would be looked down upon in England, like away fans sitting comfortably in the home stands, celebrating goals etc without bother).

Well that’s hopefully the idea with safe standing, that it brings everyone together but I remain skeptical
