I genuinely can't believe no one other than UFS has done any kind of banner at all for our worse ever run as a club at home.

UFS fronting AGAIN with absolutely no support from anyone else.

Unfortunate. But reading the comments on this thread prove the severe lack of self-confidence and inbuilt weakness of some our fans. They haven't got it in them to produce a banner.

'I really don't care about the club BUT continue to relentlessly post and think about them, please believe me!!'

SK3/4, starts well when the corner gets it going and then drops away pretty quickly

I could've posted this in various other threads like Groundhopping, League One & Two, or Unpopular Opinions You Hold, but I thought I'd stick it in here.

I went to a 4th Div game the other day.  Decent enough atmosphere in the away end, but I had the unfortunate experience of sitting 10 seats away from "the drum".   I'm not exaggerating when I say the insides of my body literally shook, when the young lad started bashing that drum.

I managed to move to the far side of the away section, which changed the experience from unbearable to just terrible.   I'm not a miserable old fart, but those things should be banned!

(the stupid thing is ... it's just unnecessary.  The group of young away fans/lads were in good voice anyway.   They didn't need some brain-shattering thud to improve the "atmosphere")

### Edited to say ###

btw.  It's not all drums that are a problem.  Marching bands drums are ok, as are lots used in most pop songs.   It was this particular drum type noise!

Used properly, drums complement atmospheres. As you point out though, too many in England (not all) have no idea how to use them properly.

Well you only have to look at the section drummer/L1 and the difference is night and day

Don’t say it

Dont say it

Don’t say it

It’s definitely an age thing lol

I’ve had this debate with people all over Twitter since the villa game midweek, even with people at work at whether the drum enhances the atmosphere or is it just noise. Personally I thought the psg fans were immense, and I’ve been to see psg at home and they’re exactly the same. The cameras pan to them, the internet talks about it, people debate and even pictures of all the legia fans at Chelsea going topless. It gets mouths talking so it must be having some effect.

If stadiums had the atmosphere of what they were 25 years ago then there wouldn’t be the need for a drum, but as English football is now so tame, fans can’t be bothered, we are treated as customers, loyalty is challenged so atmospheres are lacking, then surely a change is needed. Even Stamford bridge is making their own section. But as of my top comment, I do think people of a certain age find the drums more of a nuisance than the younger fans.

Club must be buzzing they’ve got the most submissive, happy-clapping fanbase in the world to shit all over, knowing they’ll get no grief in return.

King Power bought them. They knew what they were doing.

Fair play to UFS today for choosing times to keep it quiet really highlighted the void.

I have to say that by Liverpool was one of the worst ends you could combine given their situation. Cruising to the league title, bank holiday Sunday in decent weather, 3k allocation and so so so quiet.

I’ve been careful to be part of the England football is dead. But it’s dead ro what we remember it

Yep, not just football either, so much of the public here are so easily brainwashed.

We have a unique set of supporters in england, this could never happen in any other country.  It's been coordinated since 1992, it's worked perfectly.  The authorities have exactly what they've always wanted.  Packed stadiums.  High prices.  Passive customers.  And we have new generations who don't know any different, and are more likely to follow suit.  Able to laugh at the crazy foreign fans that might visit every now again and convince themselves that they are only behaving like that because it's 'their cup final;' to play English teams.

I've said it a million times it won't ever change, because how could it?

Save yourself some money.  Go to non league for your football fix and nip over to France or Italy or Germany, or practically anywhere if you want to experience real football culture.

Or if you want to experience old-fashioned 1970's football-style culture, passionate support on terraces, and modern day football songs (without this "ultra" nonsense) ...

go and try a bit of Rugby League.   I've been amazed just how good the atmosphere is at times.

This last weekend's gams such as Wakefield v Castleford, Wigan v St Helens, Hull v Hull KR, Leigh v Warrington ... just incredible atmospheres.

Clapped off by some after over half a home campaign without scoring a goal on the day we got relegated! It’s hard to fathom

A lot of the applause (at least from the main stand) was for the effort most players put in today to come close to a point against the leaders and champions-elect.

It wasn't like Filbert Street in 2002 when confirmation of relegation was greeted with a standing ovation from all sides of the ground!

Weren’t capable of mustering any for the previous 33 games though?
