Top has taken some heat on here and some of it had been uncalled for especially his commitment to our club.

Can we show some appreciation for him now? He flew down and made things happen in this transfer window. He does not want us to go down and still maintains his loyalty and vision for the club to succeed. We can leave the babble about his support for Rogers for another day. Right now we’re in a dire emergency and it’s all hands on deck. Time for us fans to up the ante with supporting the team too.

Wish we had this kind of support for Rodger’s. :brendan:

I just want us all to pull together so we can get out of this hot mess. Leave the infighting and drama until the summer. I do not want to watch championship football

The only thing that has changed is Top's backed Rodgers - In terms of signing players.

I made the claim in the summer the club either backs Rodgers or sack's Rodgers, they did neither and for that questions seriously need(ed) asking of Top, the board and the club.

We stood still and wrote the season off before it even began imo, now we're in the mess we're in, chasing our tails.

For me, we'd be in the mess we're in regardless while Rodgers is the managers, he's inflexible and too stubborn to change - That will be of detriment to the club.

Now, he (Rodgers) has no where to hide, no excuses.

I do agree that with all the new players we will have and returning from injury his preparations, formations, team selections and substations have to bloody work.

all eyes on him now to get the best out of this group.

Who is Rodger, and what of his belongings do you think needs our support?

Agree. Wasn't hugely comfortable with the unhappiness targeted at Top. However, its clear to see that with investments being made even in the bottom table sides, that staying the top flight won't be possible without investments being made. Its understanable why people were having the wobbles but i still think there are a lot of medium term issues to tackle, such as the deadwood and the up and coming rebuild due to expired contracts.

I'm still mystified as to what's changed from 6 months ago and where the moneys coming from for these signings?

Are we still on plan with the stadium development or have things changed?

Have we dealt with the idiots who sanctioned stupid contracts to average players?

Are we guilty of putting too much trust in those playing important roles at the club who probably aren't up to it (kolo toure)?

I think there have been legitimate mistakes made at the top which called for genuine questions to be asked, maybe lessons have been learned.

This, some said last week when I quoted Top's comments that given where we find ourselves the parameters have changed.

Understandable and correct, but none of the issues that were to be believed in the summer have changed, money issues aside (Of which are still concerns), the general beliefs were we needed to get rid before we could replace, FFP was holding us back and the squad was too big in the summer, despite Rodgers now saying he only has a small squad, I don't see what's changed in that regard  - these are constraints that couldn't be broke/were forcing to hold us back in the summer.

I was alluding to Top himself in taking action but the board have got a lot to answer for yes indeed! We should never have so many players who are terminally crocked or plain useless on long term contracts & high salary that we can’t get rid of because they don’t want to leave or nobody wants them. Those decisions were criminal and really hurt the club.

We were told it was all down to ffp though, I don't think fofana took an astronomical wage. We could have signed lookman if this was the case, £15m was a snip and he went for £8m i believe. I know we didn't get money straight away, but I'm sure a similar agreement could have been sorted for lookman.

I don't believe what we were told, it's all very curious.

My point is I think fans were irritated by what seemed to be incredible mismanagement of the club most of us have loved for life, the silence was deafening. A few signings in january is great and as I've said hopefully lessons have been learned because as fans we'll probably never get to know the ins and outs of how these decisions are made but I think Top and the board were fair game for criticism

I agree with you there are still a lot of questions about how we’ve ended up where we are. Maybe we will get those answers at seasons end.

I hope we get more transparency in the future because that would go a long way to temper the fans frustrations.

my issue was with our fans who had the knives out for Top and the KP family that was ott. End of the day none of us are star performers in our jobs all the time. Making mistakes is part of life. Hope we all as a club learn from this flirting with danger and never do it again. We are better than this

A budget untested defender and an effectively loan signing does not a summer make.

Maybe they’ll come good, I hope they come good - but this is way to early and way to little for the “Top is brilliant and you were mean to him” brigade to be licking his ring.

As alluded in other posts, there is woeful comms with us, there are numerous serious, clear problems at the club need addressing, so come back to me when that has all been dealt with and we can talk about my loss of faith in his management.

There were plenty of nasty comments about the owners from entitled people but now those same people are backtracking and trying to justify their vile nonsense.

A few nasty comments on the internet is small fry to the Thai youth uprising movement that could see Top ran out of his country. Its cooled down due to the awful human rights regime putting hundreds in prison since October.

Bigger problems than some comments on here.

Agreed but nevertheless those people should take a close look at themselves.

in fairness to Top, before the world cup all of his blind faith in rodgers had paid off. He did turn it around.

I still don’t think it’s a gamble he should have been taking but if we stay in the league and he saves some coins on rodgers than it may ultimately be a good call.

The one thing that does frustrate me, is that we really could have squeezed the coins for lookman, but as he wasn’t a top priority we didn’t. The grass isn’t always greener and that will go down as a huge faux pas when he moves to a big club for 50+ mil in the summer

A huge part of the mess we still are in was ultimately on his watch. He got off lightly in terms of fan reaction. Likely won’t see him for weeks, don’t pretend he is some sought of saviour by coming over last week.

In the same light I don't think you should be getting your knives out for him. All clubs go through trubble at one point or another the mark of a good owner is being able to guide us out of it. With the investment in this window hopefully that will happen. If we are in a similar position come summer and nothing is done I think then you can question. Fans seem to be hugely over reacting after 1 summer of minimal incomings. I don't believe at all that his intrest has waned. He may well have been distracted for a while but hopefully things will get sorted and we will be back on track

My knives not out for him as such. My issue is and always has been the bizarre bootlicking culture from our fanbase towards the ‘owners’ or a bloke that got named ‘the boss’.
