moore_94 Posted 24 March 2023 Posted 24 March 2023 (edited) Same guy who Bayern spent a load on when he was just 18 but he struggled there, was loaned to Swansea in the Prem and was crap, joined Lille and ended up behind Soumare but still played a part in the title winning side, and has done nothing at PSG Also has injury issues… sounds about right http://sportwitness.co.uk/leicester-look-take-advantage-situation-sign-tielemans-replacement-keeping-eye/ Leicester City are ‘keeping an eye’ on Paris Saint Germain midfielder Renato Sanches as a replacement for Youri Tielemans. That’s according to Jeunes Footeux, who say the Foxes are already planning ahead for the departure of the Belgian midfielder. They explain that Leicester know Tielemans will not be extending his contract at the club, which expires in the summer, and so are looking for a midfielder ‘with a similar profile’ as a replacement. Sanches is one such player and he has been‘selected’ as a potential signing this summer to fill the hole left by Tielemans’ departure. The Portugal midfielder has been with PSG since last summer, when he was signed by Luis Campos, but is in ‘great difficulty’ at the club and has only started three times in the league all season due to injury issues. It is likely Leicester will be able to ‘take advantage’of this opportunity to get a deal over the line, although they would prefer a loan deal to a straight transfer. At the moment they are yet to make their move and need to secure their place in the Premier League first, where they are currently 17th in the table and only a point outside the relegation zone. A possible relegation would obviously change their transfer plans and so there has been no definitive move for Sanches, but he is certainly on their list of Tielemans replacements. ajthefox Posted 24 March 2023 Posted 24 March 2023 Has had loads of injury struggles and was behind Soumare - who by all accounts has struggled here. Why? I could be off the mark here but the Tielemans comps seem very strange from what I remember of him at Swansea.
Silebyfox_89 Posted 24 March 2023 Posted 24 March 2023 One of most overhyped players since played Bayern signed him. I don't get it.
JimJams Posted 24 March 2023 Posted 24 March 2023 Never an issue with chancing a loan, but no way in fxxk do you outright buy him.
filbertway Posted 24 March 2023 Posted 24 March 2023 This would strike me as a Brendan Rodgers ego project, before he bins him after 3 months 2

I'm genuinely starting to believe this is Brendan https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/brendan-rodgers-instruction-leicester-city-4536936 2
sheffield_fox Posted 24 March 2023 Posted 24 March 2023 He's been patchy his whole career. Would take a huge salary. Totally not worth the gamble. More of West Ham signing.
lcfc sheff Posted 24 March 2023 Posted 24 March 2023 Loan with option to buy. We need midfielders next season and would be worth a gamble if we stay up
dylanlegend Posted 25 March 2023 Posted 25 March 2023 Typical Rodgers signing. Average, likely lost some Hunger as Carres going down and not up, waste of money and wages
Nicolo Barella Posted 25 March 2023 Posted 25 March 2023 Don't mind him on loan, I'd like him as an option in a 4-3-3 alongside Dewsbury-Hall. Can't really rely on him for Maddison's goals so we would need a good right winger (lol) and probably an option at 10 as well. He flourishes in the right system. Don't think Rodgers is the right man to get the best out of him though.
Clever Fox Posted 25 March 2023 Posted 25 March 2023 This is another poor Brendan signing who offers none of the attributes we need. Speed and Pace, Height and Strength.
lcfc-fan1126 Posted 25 March 2023 Posted 25 March 2023 He wasn't behind soumare,he was Injured Good player but horrid injury record Missed 18 games that season to injuries

lcfc-fan1126 Posted 25 March 2023 Posted 25 March 2023 Under a different manager a midfield of kdh sanches and ndidi or soumare behind those 2 would be very good but I doubt rodgers can make it work
Scotch Posted 25 March 2023 Posted 25 March 2023 How can people STILL believe that Soumare is a holding midfielder? He's been here since the summer and based on what we've seen, I'm struggling to believe he's a footballer but if he is... when it comes to protecting a back four in the EPL, he's not that guy. 1

nnfox Posted 25 March 2023 Posted 25 March 2023 Didn't Rodgers say shortly after he joined that he had briefed the scouting team to look for players who had once shown a lot of promise but then seen their form fall away, in the belief that he could resurrect their career. This lad would fit the bill. Or maybe I imagined it? 1

HybridFox Posted 26 March 2023 Posted 26 March 2023 I would stay well clear. The only possible heart I would take from this is Lookman also very much seemed a has-been but turned out to be alright. But it's a massive risk and not exactly someone we're crying out for right now
