Does he have a big support team? I know he deservedly gets a lot of blame but if he’s doing it all on his own, no wonder nothing gets done. Most clubs have about 10-15 people sorting these things.

Yes this us a valid point. Personally I think Rudkin needs to go or just be moved back to the academy as he has shown he is incompetent.

However this is clearly not going to happen, so just bring someone else who is a qualified DOF I'm to support him. There is not necessarly need to sack him if he has a better team around him.

But it seems at the moment we would rather just do nothing

It's a good question and I don't know the answer.  The impression I get though is that it is a very small circle at the top of our club.  In all honesty, the guy needs help but I wonder if he might be one of those guys that thinks they can do it all on their own, or perhaps everything he's touched is such a mess, he feels he has to carry the load on his own because as soon as someone competent came in and uncovered the mess, he'd have to go.

He's just been here far too long. At the club since 1998 and DoF since 2014. I assume he has some contacts in the industry, but I doubt he has as many as someone who has worked at several different clubs.

The worrying thing is that Top seems to have no interest in improving the off field setup, as he's now overseen two relegations and done absolutely nothing about it.

Anyone going to the fiorentina game can we have a rudkin out chant going from minute 1 to make it shown that we still want him out and are feelings aren't going to change

Hopefully noone goes to that game that would send a message, its absolute a classic example of everything wrong with the club with that horrific pricing.

if the stadium haven't made it vocally clear by now (They haven't, despite the best intentions of a lot of the fanbase) that his & the board performance is unacceptable, they never will.

I don’t think anything will make any difference apart from empty seats on a Saturday afternoon and that isn’t going to happen.
Let them continue to spend on overpaid players with no assets worth selling, no promotion and the poor decision making will continue because hopefully the money will soon run out and he’ll have to sell the club. Nobody wants this damage and pain to our club but i think it’s the only way out now of this mess.

I don't think it's true that they haven't made it clear there were multiple games towards the end of last season with load continued chants of "we want rudkin out", " Rudkin's a ****" and "sack the board"

Has he written his end of season review yet?

And does it consist of an opening line…’not good enough for the Premier league, but we’ll be ok in the championship’

You think he can write?

It's been said before that Rudkin is spread too thin and has too much to do with sorting out all the KP horse stuff as well as LCFC. The fact there is only a very small amount of people who oversee the running of the club leads me to think that Top/KP are very dodgy and don't want other people being brought into the club and seeing the dodgy stuff that goes on, whether that be with KP, LCFC or whatever other pies Top has his mucky fingers in. Probably another reason why there has never been any accountability at board level for the shit show we've become as he's scared to sack any of his close friends.

Curious how contracts work for a dof. Surely he has an end date like a manager?  Surprising that type of info isn’t public knowledge.

Probably not. He is director and salaried employee. He will have a contract of employment but it will not be a fixed term, same as any other full time member of staff.

Only logical reason he remains untouched as DoF is we are gearing up to be sold.

Or Top is an incompetent child and relies on Rudkin (and is too stupid to realise that their inertia is costing them dearly)

Would love to believe Rics idea as it does make sense, however 5waller is most likely bang on here

I’d also much prefer Ric to be right!

He'll probably still have a role at the club elsewhere, given his knowledge from the Academy-side and other aspects.

Also doubt that he'll get 'sacked', tbh.

Like with Top, he probably lost his way a bit in the role after what happened with Vichai - but has faced above-reasonable criticism, nevertheless.

He won’t get rid of Rudkin because Top ain’t got a clue what’s going on and the won’t be surprised if he asks him “which way we kicking? Or are we in blue?” So he sadly needs Rudkin.

If Top sells up I suspect he goes with him to prioritise the horses.
