It must be exhausting being this negative

It's not negative it's realistic. Just because I don't come out saying we are the best team ever after one win. I listed the same negatives that most others with eyes saw, Daka was toss, KDH was a Muppet and most of the first half was poor. I've said I'm as happy as anyone else that we won and scored a great goal and battled hard, but there was still a lot wrong with the performance that we will have to eradicate going forward.

I honestly think if Iversen and Soyuncu had played all season we would be safe now. Brendan was just too pig headed and didn't put the club first over personal issues.

Definitely agree with this.

We’d certainly be in a better position than we are now. Arguably mid table.

Good performance and a vital win. I still think we dropped off too much after scoring and with the amount of fresh legs we had in midfield could have pressured the ball a bit more to turn it over. Overall though the differences are now noticeable, there appears to be a lot more energy in the players and there is still room to improve and grow.

Daka made enough fouls for at least one yellow card but got away without one.

You can pick out stuff from throughout the game. Refs in this league just aren't very good or consistent.

i have no idea how Dake didnt get booked. When there was a break in play around 60 mins i checked skybet and he was 7/1 to get booked! Me and my mate put £20 on 6 fouls later and still no card :D even the one at the end to give the free kick away we were counting the winnings unbelievable really that he didnt get a yellow!

Daka should be banned from coming into our penalty area to defend set pieces, he's a liability, always giving fouls away. If he stayed in the centre circle opponents would have to leave two men back to mark him. Just don't understand why every manager we have, pulls everyone back late in the game, worked against Wolves but asking for trouble inviting them on.

i totally agree but it isnt just us. It is extremely rare to see a forward left up the pitch for set pieces, or when you are sitting in defending deep.

....Smith and co. were asking them to push up as they were sitting so deep!!!

There is no reason why we should follow other teams, all it takes is for Pep to do it once and evrybody falls i  line. Leave two up near the half way line, the opportunity to play an outball which will stretch the opposition. We have proven this season that having all eleven behind the ball does not work, plenty of numbers but players not taking responsibility for closing down opponents.

Noticeable how the backline dealt with attacks as they knew who was responsible for which attacker and reading the game infront of them. Very much play what you see, as opposed to play what you were told is the required pass in a situation.

again i totally agree, but it is human nature to try and help out. Strikers for me shouldnt tackle back past the centre circle. They should be occupying the defence and stopping them being an extra man.

Same on corners. Tete offers little defensively. Push him up on to the half way line right over on the touchline. It will pull at least two players to the opposite side to where the corner is taking place.

Then if Iverson gets the ball from the corner he aims the complete opposite side to where Tete is. It is then a foot race between Tete and their defenders rather than dropping to Tete where he has then either got to try and bring the ball down or win a header (to himself). It gets you up the pitch a lot quicker.

Claudio did it to great effect leaving Vardy and Mahrez up top to occupy opposition defenders fearful of the breakout. Although much easier with the likes of Morgan and Huth heading out every corner.

We did on occasion leave 3 on the half way line to prevent the opposition sending players forward. I'd love to see it again.

I wouldn't say that our current CBs have quite the solidity of Huth & Morgan  -  it's some act to follow - but now we have Soy together with either Faes or Souttar then I think we can risk keeping 2 forwards up the pitch on opposition corners.

Having too many players back in our own box leads to confusion, and leaves no out-ball.  It also tends to force oppo teams to keep back their CBs who are usually very strong threats at corners.
