Sorry been a hectic couple of weeks for me and haven’t been able to check in very often here or with the team in general. Could I ask two probably obviously questions……..

Did Soumare play DM?

Was Souttar dropped? Has he not been performing?

First half was basically 424, so there was a lot asked of the midfielders, and they were often bypassed in possession. In short, it was hard to tell. Second half when we tightened things up a little, he played like a box to boxer, and he did it terrifically well.

Souttar is probably a touch unfortunate to be dropped as he’s not done anything egregiously wrong, but Cags has been our best CB since coming back into the team so it’s between him and Faes, and I’d guess they prefer the greater mobility of Wout.

I think soumare has the ability to up his game, I'm still not sure that KDH can. Yeah he was Luton's poty, that could be the highest level he can shine. Still not convinced.

Yet he still gets picked over other players.

It was nice to see the crowd chanting, to try and banish the ghost of Rodgers before our goal.

The Crab football and back passing had started before the Crowd chanted Attack, Attack, Attack

I honestly believe if iverson and cags had played from the start of the season we would not be in this mess....or is it the beer 🤔

I think the beer has made you forget how shit the rest of them were before.

Remember that passing around the back.

Not collapsing after conceding was the biggest thing for me, and indicative of the work the new team have done.

Fans definitely helped on that front today though. Like the good old days, we got louder.

You can make that Iversen, Cags, Mendy, Ihenacho . Rodgers blind stubbornness has recklessly taken Leicester to this position….. it was almost as if he was designing Leicester to fail ! All part of the sulk ?

Soumare’s pass to Kristensen for the winner hasn’t been spoken about enough in my opinion.

Honestly, the more times I watch it, the more I think that he really didn't mean that, he didn't expect the 1-2 and it was more of a ricochet off his foot rather than a pass. Anyhow, he made it happen (knowingly or unknowingly) so credit to him.

If so then that was one hell of a precise ricochet lol

I wasn't able to follow the game yesterday.

I thought the team selection was either brave or desperate. But it's worked out. A midfield of Tielemans and Soumare scares me. Was Daka on the left?

What a huge week this is.

Feels good to wake up on a Sunday morning with a smile on my face for the first time in ages.

Much has been said on here but what made the difference and what have we learned?  Heart and belief can take you so far but there was more than that.

I didn’t feel the same sense of dread every time Wolves had a corner.  Cags and Woutt aren’t the tallest but they were more aggressive in defence and their  extra mobility and positional sense (coaching) allowed them to react to the attacking team more effectively.

They then both dropped back into position to be available to take the ball from DI and were sometimes used sometimes not depending on whether Wolves were in position to press or if there was a route out either through YT or the full-backs.  Ward simply passed to the nearest defender without any thought to what happened next with inevitable consequences.

There was an issue when DI went long to the wings though because neither Tete nor Daka were strong enough to win much in the air.  This tactic needs the midfield to be picking up the loose ball - this is the role KDH did when he came on which is easy to miss amongst the stuff he did not do so well.

Looking ahead to Tuesday if we are going to stick with a similar shape then Barnes starts for Daka, his relationship with VK has looked promising.  If he’s fit then Maddison comes in where Kells played yesterday and Kells pushes up otherwise he stays as a 10 with either Daka or Vards up top.  We all know Vards has lost his edge both in pace and finishing but he still has the capacity to be a bloody nuisance so on balance I would start him.

The key then is flexibility which ‘he who shall not be named’ was not exactly famous for.  If we need more bite in midfield then bring KDH on, if we need a calm head then Mendy comes on etc etc.

Anyway time for breakfast and an enjoyable Sunday - come on Brighton 😀

Listening to Smiths comments, is pleasing to hear. We were getting over run in midfield, an a minority have critiqued Soumares first half performance, we got away with it 1-1 at HT, Vardys injury for the penalty makes the sub easy, bring a midfielder on for a striker to give Soumare and Youri extra support. KDH was woeful in possession, but there's no doubt he helped, Soumare to be a bit more assured and positive 2nd half, having an extra body in midfield when out of possession. Daka was on the left yeah, but he didn't just stay there, he moved around a bit.

What a game that was.

Honourable mention for Soumare, who was an absolute beast in midfield. I assume that is the player he was signed to be.

The CBs were superb. Why has Soyuncu not been playing? He was arguably MotM.

Another mention for Castagne. Aside from getting the goal (he’s a surprisingly reliable finisher), he’s such an intelligent player. He never lets you down. He always seems to be in the right place at the right time.
