The atmosphere at the game today was the polar opposite to Bournemouth. That came about because there was a desire from the players to give their all. Whilst some played better than others, the commitment from all 16 players who participated was a pleasure to see. As a fan, that's all I expect at this juncture - total commitment and if that is given, I'll begrudgingly accept relegation if it happens. What I saw from the Rodgers era was almost an acceptance from the players that we were relegated.

It's frustrating, annoying and unacceptable that we are in this position, but I am greatly encouraged by the efforts today that we can get ourselves moving in the right direction.

Do other teams practice 'game management'? Wolves started doing it as soon as they scored and I dread to think what the second half would've been like had we not equalised.

We don't seem to know how to do it although Daka did have cramp  Iversen should've taken longer over goal kicks to the point that he would take a yellow for the team. And Wtf was Nacho doing running off for a substitution when we were trying see the time out?

I really can't stand time wasting and part of me applauds that we aren't very good at it. However, it now has to be done to achieve any wins in this league until the authorities start showing an inclination to do something about it.

Iirc didn't he dig out Rodgers at the start of the season? Would have been dropped if JJ and Riccy were fit i think.

You might be right, I can’t quite remember the details. If you find it let me know.

One thing that looked concerning between conceding and scoring the first, was the complete lack of cohesion on the pitch. They looked like 11 strangers rather than a squad

Of course they do, its a massive part of the game. Always makes me laugh when you hear pundits moaning about players going over too easy/making the most of things i.e Harry Kane the other week because they are so naive. If a player doesnt go down hes not getting a penalty, if Kane doesnt go down theatrically then Doucoures not getting sent off etc. You do what gives your team an advantage, its not the 80s anymore

Same guy who bossed it at CDM against Bournemouth when nobody else could be bothered to show up in the first half.

Amazing what can happen to a young player when he’s surrounded by management who are working to build their players’ confidence instead of their own brand.

Could see that in so many of them. They had the confidence to attack, to press. That's the first time I remember us pressing like that in a long time

misremembered slightly, it's this I'm thinking of: https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/leicester-timothy-castagne-rodgers-tottenham-7580404

Rodgers tried to make Castagne carry the can for Dan Amarteys lack of defensive nous and then gave his "not been training well" line which we all know is Rodgersspeak for "dared to question me"

spot on, although I would also suggest with Bouba is the benefit of working with someone like Terry who was lucky enough to play alongside great all-action midfielders like Essien for years and no doubt learnt stuff that can be brought into Boubas game with the right coaching (and we saw glimpses of today)

The more I think about it, I'm just so proud of the team and coaching staff. All their hard work this week has paid off, and they must feel so rewarded for that. And the way they held on despite the pressure since we scored. As fans we're all on tenterhooks and nervous as shit, yet still backed the lads. There's renewed faith before the game, and now even more so after the game and how the team came back into it.

The crowd sounded amazing on the commentary from the off

Hate to be party pooper but that was LUCKY in the extreme. Brilliant goal to win it, no question, but the same pitfalls of the whole season were evident. Slow and ponderous in possession, caught on the ball numerous times. Tielemans hopefully just rusty because he was terrible. KDH fvcked up everything he did when he came on. Daka committed 642 fouls ( I counted them) and one near the end nearly led to neves scoring the free kick. The shape and cohesion of a team was non existent at all. Soumare by the way had a good second half, but first half hour he was the usual dogshite. We cannot get carried away at all we need probably 3 more wins and make sure this wasn't a one off. Our saving grace is probably that Leeds and Everton are just as or even shitter than us meaning 4 or 6 points from the next 2 could have is in a good position.

It must be exhausting being this negative

Wow.

After watching an astonishing turn around and attacking intent of the last week after 2 years of boring, pedestrian, dull and pointless football, you’ve found a list of negatives.

Seriously, if you can’t enjoy today then football isn’t for you

Agreed what a bloody loser

Sounds like the two joy killers that sat behind me today. Did nothing but aggressively scream every one was shit and everything we did was shit. They found zero joy in today.

It has become a massive part of the game, sadly. I can't see much evidence that we practice it or know how to do it. The crowd around me were motioning to Nacho to slow down as he was subbed off. We seem to be oblivious to this particular dark art.
