If you go on oddschecker there are 7 managers priced at 7-2 or shorter. A lot of betting firms aren’t even offering a market for it. The bookies don't have a clue. No journalists seem to have a clue. Even SfE has backtracked slightly. A decision probably hasn't been made yet.

I’ve just had a quick look to see his time at blackburn, he took over after they finished 8th on 69 points with a +9 goal difference. And managed to get them up to 7th on 69 points with a -2 goal difference. It doesn’t exactly show that he’s improved the team in anyway, although I haven’t delved in to transfers or anything. I didn’t realise you were discussing him particularly so i apologize but I guess it would be fair to say blackburn significantly over achieved when they finished 8th and overachieved again with 7th considering their budget. Dont know too much about JDT but our fans probably want him just because they ripped us apart. Difference is that one tries to attack and one tries to bore a team into submission. If parker thinks our backline will be specialists in 1 nils he will get a harsh reality check 😂 Edited 13 June 2023 by Lambert09 1

It's a completely different task & for me it's too much of a change, especially for only his second (?) permanent managers position. good point but I think he would only come if given some money so I don’t believe they would be his only options and the doom mongers saying we will have no money I think personally is a joke as this season there will be some money to rebuild we just need the right person with good connections, a few good loans from Man City and some young talent wold be the key.

An exceptional job given the impact of social media. Or it could be that 2 weeks later, various interviews, we still have no idea who we want.

Of the 16 they lost was ake, ramsdale and Callum Wilson. So they’re 3 best players. Not too dissimilar to our situation. Fair enough - still not sure the nature of our fall from the PL is comparable - we went from top 5, ex-winners, FA cup winners to gone in two seasons, they managed just one season in the top 10.

That’s essentially what increases a manager’s stock. And the fact is next season we’re in the Championship, not in Belgium or the Prem. Again I’m not for Parker at all I’m just not sure I agree with your initial point. To paraphrase my point - what he's done in the past is not guaranteed to happen in the future. I think that's a fairly safe bet. It doesn't feel like many people are keen on him - in spite of his past performances - it just feels like a bad fit. We need someone on a positive run, not someone that is perennially sacked!

RowlattsFox Posted 13 June 2023 Posted 13 June 2023 If it was Smith surely he'd have been given it by now. And if I was Smith I might not even accept given its clear they want someone else and if noone accepts they'll offer it him. 1
