The whole world smiles Posted 29 October 2023 Posted 29 October 2023 (edited) Outside of this message board is nige's stock high enough to walk into another championship job? His record since leaving City for the 2nd time is pretty bad. Failed at Derby, failed in Belgium had a huge falling out with the owners at Watford then more or less stood still with Bristol for 3 years. Edited 29 October 2023 by The whole world smiles 1

When Warnock is about to come out of retirement for the 93rd time and characters like Beale, Ainsworth, Wagner are making the rounds, absolutely. 1 1
Gazza M Posted 29 October 2023 Posted 29 October 2023 I think Pearson is finished to be honest. He was considering retirement last summer and the health problems might mean he decides to concentrate on life away from football. 1

It's been tried before, Tigers think they are the big ticket in town when they're really not. Guess it's ones of them where in rugby they are a big ticket, one of the biggest in the country. But fan pull and associated monetary value just isn't in rugby

Popular Post HybridFox Posted 29 October 2023 Popular Post Posted 29 October 2023 There goes any goodwill with Bristol City. Hope they rot. Glad we had the opportunity to thank Nigel while we had the chance 7
Torten Posted 29 October 2023 Posted 29 October 2023 Nige would be an inspired appointment for QPR. Chance to stay up but has experience with a league one rebuild

Also just to add for calling folk out, you also went fairly quiet about Dyche for a bit after he kept Everton up at our expense so. I never went quiet, I posted recently about it when someone asked me I'd swap places with them. Not a chance. I'd rather us top of the league, redeveloped and playing the football we are compared the stalement of Everton and having to suffer Dyche's football. We will most probabaly be in the same league next season anyway, us having won a trophy on the way and them nothing again. But, as I always say, I do like Dyche as a person. He seems great, would probably be great to meet, but I never wanted him here (as you know) and wouldn't. So, look in the right places and you'll find I never went quiet about it. 3 hours ago, Unabomber said: Fox92 seems a good guy but also happy to pipe up to slate Nige which I find odd Mate I love Nige but it all became boring in the summer people telling me how good Bristol City were apparently gonna be. Always love Nige, hope he goes somewhere else and does well but also want him to take a step back for his health. Edited 29 October 2023 by Fox92 5
Leicesterpool Posted 29 October 2023 Posted 29 October 2023 (edited) I think Pearson leaving bristol city is probably best for both. Things became stale. Nige needs to enjoy the rest... another decent championship will come up. Though he should avoid qpr, that club is doomed. Pearson to Sheffield United in the prem is not impossible. HybridFox Posted 29 October 2023 Posted 29 October 2023 First of all Nige needs to get better though and hopefully he can get the surgery and recovery period he needs 1
The Horse's Mouth Posted 29 October 2023 Posted 29 October 2023 I can see Nige just packing it up now, his farewell here finished the story

Arriba Los Zorros Posted 29 October 2023 Posted 29 October 2023 Well **** you Bristol, never liked them anyway.

I don't mind telling you that I am bereft. And I am bereft of a football club. Mine has been stolen. And I will not support it again until the thieves leave.

This just screams "but what chance has Rodgers got with the little money he spent" type comments. Have a quick read on their board about how gutted the fans are about this, that should tell you everything you need to know about whether or not he's taken the club forward. 5

However, sharing and giving equal status with the rugby club will end badly. Ashton Gate has been the home to the football club for decades and Lansdown's Bristol Sport enterprise has diluted the clubs influence and presence. Pearson can do better. He certainly can.

Edit: just read a quote that said he was a football fan first, so I’m wrong on that. the references in that sacking article gave me a wry smile, this is a club what have always struggled to get into the top flight, historically. You are not wrong. He definitely prefers rugby. Only got into football because of his useless (treacherous) son. And let's not forget, he was a Bristol Rovers supporter before that. The bloke is an egotistical, narcissistic charlatan.

Poor decision on the face of it. Table position is poor but it's very congested. The injuries bit doesn’t fit the narrative with the messiah that is Dave Rennie.
