I asked the club about this yesterday and I'm not sure they had a clue what I was talking about:

Q: EFL rules are that we have to give away sides a minimum of 2000 tickets rather than 3000, so will we be looking to enforce that to allow more of our fans to attend games?

A: The configuration of the visitors’ section means that we can use some of it for home supporters should the visiting club not want all of the visiting allocation available

lol

Makes sense to me. Suspect they will still offer 3.3k to the likes of Sheff Wed, Norwich, Ipswich and Leeds who will fill it and we are not going to not sell out, but it would be scandalous if they gave Cov or whoever we have on Boxing Day and NYD anything more than 2k.

I reckon the Coventry allocation gets halved, especially if near start of season. They really reduced their games I believe at the end of last season, because of trouble.

Ipswich won't fill our away end. Never have.

I've got it done as 7 teams who will fill the full end. Birmingham, Cov, Leeds, Mboro, Norwich, Sheff Wed and Sunderland

Edit: Coventry up to now have never filled our away end however their away support has got alot better since we last played them.

Good shout on the other teams that will fill it. Would be utterly shocked if Cov don't sell 3.3k at our place, they haven't been for years. Maybe quite a few more would fill it as many fans in this generation won't have been to the KP and we alongside Leeds are the 'glamour' club in the champo IMO. We won't sell out Boro at home and the club would be mad not to give them 3.3k, not saying it's the right thing to do but $$$ wins

Boro definitely, got huge numbers, good mates with a Boro fan who cannot get a ticket for away matches (according to him). They also have some palace ultra type fan group which is getting popular

Mboro normally bring good numbers here filled it twice I think. Norwich are well supported and we're one of their closer games.

Yeah. For context, I was asking about the season ticket cap and whether that could be increased given we have more of the stadium available if we wish, as we've had over 8000 new applications already.

Obviously we may have to drop it down again if we were to go up though (not sure if it's a club or league decision), but they're not interested anyway.

Was talking about this yesterday and it depends what the cap is for each league. If we do go back up to the PL, whenever that is and the cap is 23,000 STH's but we have 24,500 STH's, then they would have to tell 1,500 that they can no longer have one.

What they could do is sell an extra 1,500 ST's but tell those people explicitly that they are not guaranteed a ST if we get promoted but they would get first priority on any that become available.

Leeds and Ipswich always used to be the two worst. Leeds are swines - moved their away end to their posh stand so they could sell more expensive tickets. They used to be something like £36 in this league. No idea what it'll be now though.

I've done some quick research today on Ticket Prices for Championship teams and rough allocation we'd likely get. I thought back to our previous campaigns in the Championship where we were getting charged north of £40 for the likes of Ipswich, Leeds and Sheff Wednesday. I've done the below on average then highest prices for last season.

Birmingham City - £27.50 - £32: Allocation roughly 2,000 – 2,300 (Believe the allocation is smaller as St Andrews is currently at a reduced capacity)

Blackburn Rovers - £30 - £35: Allocation roughly from 3,000 to 7,000

Bristol City - £28 - £33: Allocation roughly 3,400

Cardiff City - £25: Allocation roughly 3,000

Coventry City – £33: Allocation roughly 4,500

Huddersfield Town - £25 - £30: Allocation roughly 2,000

Hull City - £27 - £32: Allocation roughly 3,000 - 3,700

Ipswich Town - £30: Allocation roughly 2,000

Leeds United - £30: Allocation roughly 2,800

Middlesbrough - £25 - £31: Allocation roughly 3,000

Millwall - £29/£30: Allocation roughly 3,500(includes bottom tier)

Norwich City - £30: Allocation roughly 2,400

Plymouth Argyle - £26 - £30: Allocation roughly 2,000

Preston North End - £28: Allocation roughly 2,300

Queens Park Rangers - £30: Allocation roughly 3,000

Rotherham United - £23 - £25: Allocation roughly 2,500

Sheffield Wednesday - £20 - £25: Allocation roughly 2,500 (Leppings Lane has a reduced capacity currently)

Southampton - £30: Allocation roughly 3,300

Stoke City - £30: Allocation roughly 2,800

Sunderland - £20 - £30: Allocation roughly 3,000

Swansea City - £30: Allocation roughly 2,000

Watford - £27 - £30: Allocation roughly 2,300

West Bromwich Albion - £20: Allocation roughly 2,000 (looks like WBA have giving smaller away allocations recently)

Leicester - We know members of the club actively read this forum, could we as a club write to all other Championship clubs and agree on a price for us visiting them and them us? say £25 also can we reduce our away end? We were the biggest away end in the Premier League for a number of years offering somewhere near 3,3?? tickets surely as a club you could make the segregation move and make our away end 3,000? We only just get 3,000 at Old Trafford and The Emirates, so it can be done.

Some of those prices are ridiculous. Especially factoring in travel, food/drink you're touching £50-100 for a game.

You'd think clubs would have some sense.

We give far too much of the stadium to away fans. Time to get more of our own in.

I think the actual number is club enforced as Sheffield United had 25k STH with a slightly smaller ground than us. If it is, then we wouldn't have to reduce anything, unless the club wanted a larger percentage paying match day prices.

West Ham have 55,000 in a 62,000 or whatever it is too I've just read, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Why wouldn't we want more of our own fans to get in and have ST particularly this season?

If that's the case then why not, guarantee a big crowd for every game and much more affordable than match by match. Demand is there. However, the club will want to sell expensive match tickets and memberships no doubt.
