Dennis Wise. Some thought he was a twat, others a cvnt.

Weirdly enough, I was going to post the exact same thing, even the apt terms. :appl:

I mentioned a while back that I thought Astrit Adjarevic was decent during the League One season and got put in my place pretty quickly. I must have been the only one who thought he was a really tidy midfielder at that level. His career trajectory after us probably shows that I was wrong - he did get a call-up for Albania in 2017 though, so maybe I saw something nobody else did!  lol

I know he’s a former player now but Maddison comes to mind.

Some, including myself, see him as one of the best players we’ve ever had in the PL era and a great ambassador for the club during a highly successful era in our history.

Others dislike him for basically everything that’s happened since the World Cup.

Of our current crop, I guess it’s probably KDH.

I don’t think players like Albrighton or Barnes really divide opinions. They just have a small number of vocal detractors, everyone other than Vardy has had those, including players like Schmeichel, Mahrez, Weller, Worthington, Shilton or whoever else

Paul Gallagher is a good shout. Seemed to be one of those players people either loved or hated.

Spencor Prior and Andy Impey are 2 more I can think of. Some seemed to really rate them and others couldn’t understand why they were in the side. Taggart was like that too for his first couple of seasons.

Izzet I wouldn’t say divides opinions on whether he was good, but there’s more of a divide between if he was just a good, hard working player who played alongside the superior Neil Lennon or whether he was one of our greatest ever players.

Going back a while but David Speedie, play off final villain, then joined us and did a decent job including a goal in the play off semi final v Tranmere in 94.

…Then again to be loved/considered decent by our fans you need to run around like a cvnt.

The art of good comedy.

Wash your mouth out Dyer - is a legend! No argument, end of. So there :P

Can't remember Steve Howard splitting opinions. He was good for us.

If you're going in that team, I would say Oakley split opinions from the people around me in the stadium in the league one season.

I don’t remember anyone ragging on Poundshop Shearer - especially after the Leeds goal.

That moment was just absolute explosion of joy that I don’t believe I’ve felt has been exceeded at any other match.

Howard was a great player for us in League One but shite in the Championship outside the play off semi final. That was all there was to it really. Don’t think he split opinion. Just a good player at the level we were at who we outgrew once we got promoted

Dyer definitely split opinions. Lots of fans saw him as a headless chicken, while I remember some actually thought he could've done a job in the Premier League.

Howard like Fryatt was good in the third division, but blew hot and cold in the Champ. There were plenty of fans that didn't take to him, myself included.

Nope. Still not havin' it on Dyer. Nope, not at all. He may well have ran the length of the pitch at speed going for goal and got to the end l fell over and went out for a goal kick (was funny at the time) but he's a legend.

Sorry :D

Like many others I didn't get Ben Chilwell. We were wrong.

No, we were not. He was our weakest spot when we had a very good side. Very few regretted him leaving and the fee that went with it. And Oh that Wembley celebration.:D

Lloyd Dyer.

Steve Howard.

Lloyd Dyer? Good grief he was fantastic for us on our title-winning championship season. No way can he be considered decisive surely.

The celebrations had nothing to do with a last minute goal confirming promotion…… everybody was just soaking it in, knowing we wouldn’t score from a corner again for a million years.

I don’t know about the wider fan base but I had a mate who would be driven round the bend by Dyer, less so in our promotion season(s)!

Only splits from the opinion of everyone around him and the crowd when he passes.

Only as far as him being announced as in the team and going on to live up to expectations.

Yeah I'm sure he was booed a few times during the Sousa/Sven reign. Remember he scored and looked proper angry not wanting to celebrate.

Loved him myself. Huddersfield away, League One 💙
