The full interview is on the When You’re Smiling podcast. He’s basically making the youngsters earn their place, and not take success for granted. He believes young players need to learn.

There’s nothing wrong with keeping a young lads feet on the ground. It sounds likely that he’s took his foot of the gas this week in training and Enzo is letting him know that standards are set and must be maintained. A little rocket up the arse isn’t a bad thing, Enzo obviously likes the lad but he must be disappointed about something since last week.

To be fair. Before the Cardiff game he said Wanya had a lot to learn.

 

In the Cardiff game, if it wasn’t for the goal we’d have been looking at a winger who fluffed 6 out of 6 crosses into the box. So, in fairness Enzo is probably well within his rights to manage Wanya the way he is doing.

 

I like it, at the end of the day the young lads are getting chances which we’ve rarely seen! But they need to stay hungry too rather than getting ahead of themselves.
