I’m fine with his reasoning but at least put him on the bench ahead of one of the two keepers.

Nothing says you need to work harder or listen more to Enzo than not even being on the bench with 2 keepers there instead.

Maybe hes unhappy we are signing players to replace him.

perhaps he wasn't training properly so it was needed to drop him completely?

The full interview is on the When You’re Smiling podcast. He’s basically making the youngsters earn their place, and not take success for granted. He believes young players need to learn.

Also, let’s not forget we have a cup game on Tuesday.

There’s nothing wrong with keeping a young lads feet on the ground. It sounds likely that he’s took his foot of the gas this week in training and Enzo is letting him know that standards are set and must be maintained. A little rocket up the arse isn’t a bad thing, Enzo obviously likes the lad but he must be disappointed about something since last week.

He's doing what Pep has done with the likes of Lewis, Foden and Palmer.

Making them strive and work, not giving them too much to young.

I like Enzo but disagree about this totally, especially when have 2 keepers on the bench.

It's bizarre isn't it.

It the extremely unlikely event that the keeper gets injured and then his replacement gets injured, I'd probably risk an outfield player going in goal rather than reverting to Ward.

Maybe Enzo sees something in ward as an outfield player and it is only one gk on the bench lol

Surely the 2 keepers thing I just to apply a little additional pressure on those responsible for bringing new players in.  Think he’s just making a point

This is it. If we had enough outfield quality, Ward wouldn’t be on the bench.

It's seriously dumb to publicly drop a player who is already out of his depth after scoring the week before. "Technical", bullshit, if you're putting a 3rd Goalkeeper on the bench over Wanya you're just waving your cock around.

By signing somebody else this week 😂

Well, yes, Maresca will.. but I meant of course that Marcal can’t really expect to get back in the team next game after that performance!

Not even a place on the bench after doing well despite having two GK’s on it. lol

Brutal.

Takes zero prisoners with his decision making does he!

Good to finally have a manager with balls on him

The Irish midget relegated us because Ward had been a loyal no2

Think it's Enzo way of keeping feet on the ground and making them work even harder.

High standard being set.

We've been laissez faire for too long, long may it continue

we need cover on the other side as well, once the lad from Sporting signs I'm sure one of McAteer or Marcal will go on loan

I mean, if Kels continues to misfire, he is an expert at ensuring the ball ends up in the back of the net.
