Stolarczyk wasn't fit when he arrived and Iversen isn't good either.

As soon as he's been able to drop Ward he has.

Not true though is it. If Iversen isn’t as good why was he on the bench and not Ward last night? Ward shouldn’t have been given a squad number let alone a place on the bench and in the starting 11 this season. I’m not sold on Iversen but he is better than Ward and had he played against Wolves certainly wouldn’t have conceded the 3 Ward let in

Because Iverson doesn’t have the entire fanbase on his back.  In fact, quite a lot of fans seem to still think Iverson has some quality.

RVN seems to realise this and fingers crossed, Ward will never be seen again.

He has the entire fanbase on his back because he’s absolute dirge and not only did he almost single handedly relegate us in 22/23 he’s pretty much sealed that this year with his performance against wolves.

Iversen isn’t Lev Yashin but it’s clear to see he’s better than Ward for anyone who’s eyes work, and was very highly rated on his loan spells until we robbed him of 2/3 years to play 2nd fiddle to a dodgeball champion.

We can agree that hopefully he’ll never be seen again and RVN has seen the error of his ways

I'd argue Iversen was more worthy of an opportunity than Ward. Just my opinion, of course

Of course he was. He has obvious flaws at this level but he showed in 2023 he's a good shot stopper at times. Pulled off some heroics at home to Everton. He would've saved the 3rd against Wolves and probably the 2nd wouldn't have happened either.

Not unless he scored a solo wonder goal cos we created feck all in that game.

confidence was gone the moment they scored their first soft goal, another keeper keeps it 0-0 and our players have some confidence and build some attacks

Jakub was fit to play against Wolves. He wasn’t selected.

Stoalrczyk was doing the 3rd choice role pre match vs Wolves, he was fit to play, it not even like he had a full week of training between games either

It was an obvious and sensible thing for Ruud to do, taking dodgy Danny out the spotlight cures the crowd of its minute 1 poisonous atmosphere, then play Jakub (or Iversen) and the mood was always going to lift. Bonus that Jakub did well, so we should hold little fear for him as Mads’ deputy.

We should be giving JS a new contract regardless, and now to be honest as it appears he is back fine from injury. It only runs to 2026.

If that's the case, this needs attending to straight away.

Luckily, we've got super Jonny Rudders on the case.  What could possibly go wrong?

I am sat here laughing to mysefl thinking of how Ward would've dealt with that. No matter how many options I give myself they all end with Ward bouncing off the post, getting no where near the ball and us conceding.

There is a reason Ward is criticised, booed or whatever. He doesnt look like a professional and doesnt work on his athleticism like Jacob or Mads. It is self inflicted.

Yeah I think it should be imminent, or a couple of weeks to assess fitness and coming back from injury but yeah any time now.

We're all assuming that Ward was dropped, but not to make the bench makes me wonder whether Ward made himself unavailable after the Wolves debacle?

Its true. it would have been the right thing both the honourable thing to do, let alone good for his well being.

Those saying Iversen was better than Ward don't seem to recall the 2022-23 season. When he replaced Ward he may have shown a little more confidence (not difficult) but was absolutely dreadful with the ball at his feet. And I recall him conceding a bad free kick goal, may have been Everton at home?

Ward had his confidence issues, but either of them behind the shocking defence we had in 22-23 was a car crash.

I'm much happier with Stolarczyk 👍🏼

Everton at home he made a string of really good saves. Palace away I seem to remember something similar. Fulham away he was crap but the defence and midfield were like butter.

Overall there is plenty of evidence that he is a better shot stopper than Ward. So many time Ward has conceded goals that 99% of the time a PL keeper would save. His positioning and reactions are incredibly bad for this level, I can't believe anyone would put him ahead of Iversen, whom I admit is essentially not a great PL goalkeeper.

I wouldn't put Ward ahead of Oversen. They're both shite. For different reasons.

The point is that if you have to choose 1, which we have needed to and may need to again, there is no debate

Was quite surprised how him pushing the ball away in the second part of that clip nearly  got a mention by the commentary on the channel   I was watching .

He got motm against Everton at home, making 3 or 4 good saves. He was shocking away to Fulham conceding the shocker of a fk and 4 others which was grim. Had iversen played the full season no way would we have gone down, we scored as many as spurs that season (afair), I don’t think we’d have finished top half but we’d have comfortably stayed up. Iversen was a top half champ shot stopper which is all we needed, yes he was and is poor with his feet but Ward is hardly ederson.

As you say though, Stolarczyk is head and shoulders above Iversen.

Felt like his casual-ness in playing it out by his feet was too close for comfort at times.

However, he was decent in his aerial awareness, distribution and calling out for the ball.

Absolutely,  Ward gets nowhere near that.
