With Soumare, he put no effort into most of his matches and didn’t want to be here. He was very easy to judge on his time here. I don’t care if he plays well for someone else. Still want him out of our club.

...with the environment what it was last season, and the debacle we watched unfold, it is no wonder that he would have wanted out, half of them did!!!

There is no excuse for not trying, not looking to support your teammate when the ball is 10 yards away and you can affect the decision that the opposition player can take. I would say most still do not understand what his position was or what we were asking of him.

Measuring his contributions by goals and assists was never the formula to use to evaluate his worth.

Him not looking out of place against Real Madrid and Arsenal but our fans thinking he would be crap under Enzo in the Championship (horrid quality league) is funny to me.

Enzo didn’t even bother giving Soumaré a chance this preseason, and I haven’t seen anything so far that’s leading me to doubt Enzo on any decision he’s made except maybe his choice of sport coat to wear on his first day on the job (and I’m even starting to come around to that check pattern blazer too).

The player was 100% wanting to move on

with the settling issues he had last year it wasn’t a conversation enzo wanted to have.  We needed to get players out to free up some wages for incomings.

I’m sure enzo would make a better player of bouba but it isn’t something we need to concern ourselves about if Sevilla are going to take up their option

If he wanted to come back and can add to the team, I’d be willing to accept him. Enzo is proving he can get a tune out of players that Rodgers put on the scrap heap, or made to look horseshit.

Just think what he’d have done with Maddison, Barnes and Tielemans.

The disdain in Ian Wrights voice when he says 'Leicester' a few times makes me angry. Twat still can't his head around that Rodgers was the issue.

...an Arsenal icon is never going to have any love for us, we took away their trophy (because that is what they thought they were about to pick up)!!!

They are never going to forgive us until they finally win the league themselves (it has been a long time).

Disagree, Wright has been vocal about how much he likes Leicester - just look at what he said in our FA Cup win.

Without the context of Soumare's mental health issues combined with Rodgers' mismanagement, you can see why people would make similar comments.

He can’t get his head around Walsh nearly nutting him at Philbo

History seems to be extremely kind to Soumare on here.

He was a CM who doesn’t do a lot of things that influence a game.

As others have stated (some even before he joined) not sure what the recruitment team were thinking other than Newcastle and a few others looked at him but ultimately didn’t proceed with his signing any further.

He was never going to replace Ndidi or Youri at the time, so confident we can add him to the long list of reasons why our avoidable demise happened.

No hard feelings but bye bye Bouba.

Sorry, but one of the worst players I've ever seen in a Leicester shirt and a huge reason we went down.

It's one thing to have been a player like Vesty who, while undoubtedly dogshit for us, barely played during our worst period for 15 years.

Soumare was a regular, and he actively made our midfield way worse whenever he played, bar one good game against Wolves.

Perhaps Enzo would have gotten more out of him. But no, we're not missing him, and frankly I'm glad to be rid of a number of players who coasted through last season and didn't believe it was possible that we'd be relegated until we had that big fat R by our name in May. Himself, Tielemans, Amartey, Tete, even Barnes lacked any of the gonads needed in a pressure situation and are not really missed. We needed to overhaul the squad mentality first and foremost, and he was part of the problem with his languid style and poor control.

If he goes on to go elsewhere for a fee that's just a bonus. As it stands, our midfield looks undeniably improved with Winks coming in and Wilf rediscovering form in his new role. I've moved on but am not going to suddenly be revisionist about one of Rodgers' biggest failures.

The only silver lining in this saga is knowing that we somehow got our money back on Musa after he showed up in the World Cup, and the same could be the case for Soumare. Maybe a purple patch could lead to a club or two biting in January or next summer. I certainly do NOT want to see him line up for us again if we get promoted.

Couldn’t give a shit if he turns into prime Patrick Viera, he was abysmal for us and looked like he barely have a shit. Wouldn’t want him anywhere near the team we currently have.

If Sevilla buy him then everyone's a winner. I wish him well if he goes.

Sometimes transfers just don't work out and it's not because the player is dogshit, it just isn't the right fit.

I don’t wish him anything.

lazy guy who did nothing for us.

Most of the squad turned into lazy shits with Rodgers..... not just one guy.

Can you genuinely say that other CM’s in two years continuously let runners ghost past them as regularly as Bouba though?

Mentally he was oblivious on the pitch and seen more tactical awareness from CM’s at Sunday league level.

Yes. Infact everyone used to say it about tielemans for instance.

But he, or anyone really should have replaced Tielemans at that time, who was lazy and totally gash. The few games under Smith showed a different Soumare to some extent.

That was due to Rodgers mismanagement, in particular, trying to shoehorn him into midfield roles he wasn't suited to (a bit like Vestergaard, not played to his strengths). Soumare, a young player from abroad, perhaps didn't have the belligerent steel of Vestergaard or his experience and his mismanagement and omissions by Rodgers probably took their toll mentally and he just wanted out, I can't blame him.

Can't be right really can it, over the season the guy hardly played, I think there are far more guilty parties than him to point the finger at for going down, mainly the manager.

I’m sure that there was a HUGE difference in Youri being unfit/potentially over weight and running but Soumare would let players walk past him due to a lack of tactical nous.

Two different issues.

Not disputing that Youri should have been dropped and under Rodgers (who I dislike as much as everyone) appeared to find him undroppable.

I still think the wrong question is being asked if Soumare is the answer.

Tbh I want all our players loaned out to do well purely so the clubs take up the options on them. If Thomas, Soumare and VK all go we should be able to make Fatawu, Yunus and Doyle permanent which would work for me.
