Strange...Leicester 3 season & 2 seasons ago had a massive chronic injury list through those 2 1/2 seasons..

6-7 players struggling even after short returns..Ndidi,Vardy,Madison,Soyuncu,Fofana,Justin,Ricardo...Our major stars and high performers and and.and

Even some of our own fans, not taking it serious.& doubting effect..

Now Man.utd and a few others having their say, with higher quality squads & media now starting to discuss it..

There probably is too much football. However with squad depth, Man Utd cannot complain. As far as City are concerned, we all know that the injury issues are likely to be related to the past regime.

And yet all these big mouth managers won’t stand up to their bosses. Don’t join the Carabao Or FA Cup. Don’t play in UEFA and FIFA Mickey Mouse cups. Tell UEFA dump the Mickey Mouse Nations League, tell your owners no stupid pre season overseas meaningless competitions. It’s in their hands do something or shut up.

2016/2017 season Lincoln city won the national league. They also got to the FA Cup quarter finals and the FA trophy semi finals. They didn't have a squad like these top premier league teams. They need to stop whining.

I read an article on this earlier and it pissed me off tbh, as well as the obvious issues as already mentioned above, the PFA were quoted as saying that it's time something was done to protect its biggest asset...the players.

**** off! The biggest asset is always the fans, and those overpaid bunch of babies need a little realism in their lives.

Lets call it a day. Let the lads play some chess and we can watch that

Schedule really hasn't changed at all as long as I've known football to be around. The german opinion is so god damn weird when it comes to English football.

Too many foreign managers, love being here, but few can or will understand and just get on with the British routine..

I reckon many have that arrogant audacity,to take their PL/other leagues, and believe they should try & force changes, using paid TV to support

Unwarranted concerns in British tradition of " longer" seasons...Another slow indication that they would prefer a

Super-league has their paymasters, and dismantle the envious 4 profi leagues and see clubs like Burnley,Luton even Leicester has Their perspective of

Eddie The Eagle clubs, who interfere with their idea of clinical, perfect football .Of Let's control who becomes members of their "perfect leagues"

Lincoln play at about 5% of the pace the elite players do.

I completely agree. They want their cake (millions of $$$$) and to eat it (play as little as possible). There has to be compromise. You can reduce the schedule and earn less. Or keep increasing the schedule and keep earning more. I guess this is why these people are at the top of a ruthless global industry, they won’t compromise, they want it all.

Not having it.

These top clubs

1.) had squads expanded

2.) had extra subs introduced

3.) hoover up the best academy talent

4.) rotate their squads every week

5.) make 8-11 changes in cup games

6.) FLY to trips more than 1hr away

7.) have dozens of sports scientists, physios and specialists to attend to their every physical need.

They don't seem bothered when coining it in during pre-season and even in the winter "break" when they drag their squads to various continents to play exhibition friendlies and tournaments.

Cry more.

Not that long ago that the idea of playing a league fixture in Asia to bring in even more cash was mooted.

When authorities complain about player welfare they might as well be saying 'there are too many matches and there needs to be a reduction in matches, as long as it isnt in our competitions'.

The blame, if any  sits squarely on the shoulders of FIFA and EUFA who have expanded and introduced more and more games and extra competitions in what appears to be a battle between them to see who can milk the most money out of the game.

Trust in the squad and stop over playing people. Yes top clubs will rotate in the Carabao and when there is a fixture pile up (eg around Christmas), but maybe top clubs should put more faith in their squad players and younger lad’s throughout the season.

He doesn’t fit the profile of being at top top clubs, but look at Tielemans as an example. It’s becoming pretty clear his body has given up on him and he’s only 26/27. He’s played at the top level, Europe in many seasons and major international tournaments since he was 16. So a lot of it is poor management and ignorance. You do see a few managers now managing players like Pep seems to with Foden, but there’s not enough of them.

They have players.

Every club just wants its best XI on the pitch for every game.

Unfortunately football doesn’t work like that anymore.

Simply put, if you concerned about fixture pile up, utilise that squad of players that cost millions.

Tielemans is an odd one though, there's nothing to suggest underlying injury issues from overuse, and he was one of the few to avoid sizeable layoffs when it really hit the fan in 21-22. He played 30+ games for us for three consecutive seasons. If his pathetic fitness levels were really an issue of being over-utilised, he should surely be sharp and ready for Villa by now.

He's a real anomaly against the belief that regular gametime is the only way to keep match-fit.
