I’m happy and feeling good.. Leeds played well, we will be totally fine though; Arsenal

beat us and celebrated like they won it lol we just laughed and comfortably came through

Yeah absolutely. It's all about the reaction now and if it's anything like the reaction to our last defeat we'll be completely fine. There will be a lot of dissecting of last night by fans whether that be tactically or individual performances but sometimes you just have those nights. They looked like a team chasing and we looked a bit flat, and we only lost 1-0 and hit the bar and missed a sitter.

Gutted it was them but not panicking by any means

I’d rather learn in defeat now and again this season so Enzo can switch it up in adversity. The danger is we cruise this season and have no resilience or options to fall back on when the inevitable beatings happen next season should we get promote

We are probably all disappointed by any defeat in the immediacy. Events like that happen. It’s more the pattern that concerns me. We’re still getting results, almost exclusively, so it feels churlish to be pessimistic ….. but it’s hard to deny that the quality of football we are churning out has lost its lustre, for the moment. The club have set a high bar on expectations this season via their performances. There’s nothing wrong in people being disappointed to see those standards slipping. We’re all united around attaining the goal of promotion, I’m sure. And we look well on course. But spotting a potential fall-off isn’t negativity. Just a deep based desire for the club’s continued success that leads to some us being hyper-sensitive to any perceived threat to that success.

Would rather us not lose to Leeds though.

Defeats to nearly all the other teams I can cope with.

People talk about a potential fall off as if it's a certainty. Leeds looked well up for it last night and still only narrowly beat us

I think this is the point. If that loss was against a Swansea or someone like that I don't think the meltdown is half as bad

Think we got sucked in to the trap of making the game seem bigger than it actually was in the grand scheme of things (for us). I get it, it did feel like a big game, it felt like a premier league game tbh, but an early November defeat probably isn’t going to be the end of the world come may. In hindsight anyway, I was fuming last night but I think that was because I was watching the game in a Leeds pub and we didn’t really show what we were fully about so it was disappointing. On we go though.

The reason I’m so disappointed is because it’s the first proper challenge, and we slipped up. That’s the majorly disappointing thing. Not even having a shot on target until the last ten minutes?

But, there are still imbalances in the team, and it would be Leeds over anyone….. it’s just annoying. Slightly concerning, but we’ve got the perfect opportunity to bounce back…

It's also horrible losing a Friday night game. We'll be fine mate

How is it the first challenge? Norwich were in good form when we beat them, Southampton was a convincing win, people were talking up Sunderland as an amazing side, even Cov in the opener. It's seemingly easy to forget what we've done so far

I wouldn’t consider them as much of a challenge, with the greatest respect. All huffed and puffed but didn’t really trouble us all that much. Leeds are now being talked up by the media outlets, and their own fan base were adamant they would win, and the game pretty much played out that way. Come the business end of the season they will be our direct rivals. Both of us will go up automatically.

I would have take it better if it was someone like Rotherham as its easier to write off as a bad day in the office as opposed to a team supposedly one of the closest team to us in the league in terms of quality.

That said, even if Leeds to the double over us we are still more consistent against the other 22 than they are so no need to hit the panic button.

My take would be that we barely laid a glove on them, despite having a huge amount of possession. They were the only team that looked like scoring.

We hit the bar and missed a sitter at the end though. Even on an off day we could've conceivably drew the game. I'm not pretending it wasn't a poor performance but it is an anomaly

Disagree.

Cov, then having come from a playoffs season and good form coming for a big scalp on the opening day.

Southampton away, fellow relegated side.

Norwich away, one of the better sides and in good form.

Blackburn away. One of the better sides, beat us recently in the cup.

Swansea away. Another one of the better sides. They were ahead.

It played out that way though to be fair. Game was decided by fine margins in the end it wasn’t like they dismantled us. As I’ve mentioned above this is hindsight from me because I said some stuff in the match thread last night that probably made me look a bit silly after a few ales, but having reflected on it, watching that game as a neutral last night you’d think that was two teams probably a level above the division they’re in. They are the closest thing to us in terms of quality, the game played out that way, and even after a disappointing (by our standards) performance, we could have got something from that game but for the crossbar and an unreal save by their young lad in goal. We play that game again and again and it would probably flip flop between who would win.
