In the market for an Xray Lv 2 or 3, aerospace experience. Like white unicorns.

In fact I’m in the market for anyone that is good in general, the labour market gets worse and worse every year.

Seems to be an odd one then, lots of employers seemingly screaming out for capable staff but then every reasonably skilled position has 100+ applicants.

Whose market is it right now, I wonder?

Yes and no. Have some commission based gig work, which isn't bringing in much (which is bad), but it is writing for a very well known science communication YouTube channel (which is good).

Appreciate you asking.

well I guess it’s at least something to help balance your equilibrium/ sanity.

and who knows where it might lead, what contacts you make, ect… even if it’s just a gap filler .

glad you have something though!

Are they adapting the “quiet firing” approach, so they don’t need to pay redundancy payments?

It does feel like they are happy to make decisions to push people out without actually doing it

It’s an approach that is becoming more mainstream.

Basically withdraw support and apply pressure, be unreasonable and that’s the quiet firing, forcing people to leave for pastures new!

Well, I got there in the end.

160+ applications later, I have started a full time job. Enjoying it so far and it has such a positive effect on mental health.

Congratulations.

How many interviews did you have to go through?

Having a job you like really makes a psychological difference..

Actually, it was only the fourth interview that was the successful one. The tricky part, apparently, was getting the application to that stage in the first place.
