Genuinely would make Daka and cannon the two rotating strikers from here on out, cannon showed some nice touches and link up, could have had a goal if Casadei was less selfish, and Dakas movement was exactly what this system is supposed to be and a big part of why more chances came from the space in behind

To be fair though, there won't be many games where the opponent is pushed forward as much as plymouth were, especially not at home.

...you look at the first half and nothing I have said was incorrect!!!

The first goal in the second half was a 70-yard ball that we utilised and scored. We do not often go too up and that 7-minute patch was not the norm for us. The scoreline for me covers our deficiencies upfront, great to score goals, and great to have the win, but people are quick to overlook things due to a win, the problems are still there.

On Wednesday we may only get 2 chances, we need to be clinical, and we can't afford to keep butchering such clear chances.

Maresca said he was not that happy with our play, he sees it!!

You seem to be pushing for some unattainable standard.  Yes we could have done better with some chances, but all teams waste chances.  Today we scored 4 goals that were all very different, and had enough to composure to hold on for a clean sheet even with a massive number of changes to the squad.

We all get that there are some underlying problems remaining, but today the positive play outweighed the negative by some distance.

I completely lost it with us when we had that poor spell. Players being cocky, overconfident etc. Stick three or four past them and then get the moves out.

Fair fuvks cos Enzo sorted it second half

Funny thing perspective - for me it was the opposite: we seemed suddenly nervous and uncertain.

I've felt a few times in the last couple of games that he was going to be the new Cengiz. Player not getting picked gets in a vicious cycle of trying too hard to impress the manager by going it alone and falling in to the trap of doing exactly what the manager doesn't want.

Exactly my thoughts. Under is a really great example of that too

...my initial post was regarding the chances that we created and the poor decisions made to execute in those instances!!!

We were more direct at the start of the second half (not the norm) and gained from it putting us 4 ahead before 60 minutes. I do not expect us to be perfect in every game, we can't be, but this team has underlying problems where we struggle to make the right decisions in the last third, and it is a worry.

Nb.

  I do read my post.

Think u r right.  Too many time we eerevthru but passed the wrong way... a few times wecwerevtgru and looked for a pass! 1.0 at ht was a joke.

I am happy with 4 0... but it should have been 7

It wasn't a reflection on Under I just mean that he started trying way too hard to impress

Ohhh, I’m not calling you out on Under and totally agree about him as the less game time took place he seemed to take silly pot shots etc.

More commenting on my dislike for Rodgers.

Guessing you weren’t at the game.Far better than what we have seen recently from Vardy and Kelechi.

I don’t think he was far better at all. Happy he scored though as we might need him over the busy Christmas period.

Unlike nacho - at least he looked like he knew what he was supposed to be doing.

So a goal and an assist in the first game he has started is not better than what we have witnessed so far, admittedly not a high bar to beat.

Very enjoyable afternoon. Delighted for Daka, he tried that run a couple of times in the first half, without us looking to use it. Looked a bit rusty at times, but looked more of a threat than Vards or Nacho have in recent weeks. Cannon showed good movement in his cameo as well. Much more creative today overall, helped by Plymouths approach. Nice to see someone come and have a go, especially when it plays into our hands! Mavididi had his best game in a long while, Fatawu has so much potential. We are going to miss Wilf, Fatawu, Daka and Nacho when AFCON comes around, especially with Ipswich in that time frame as well! Hopefully we continue in the same vein of form up to Christmas and keep racking up the points

If you're talking Daka, he was very lively. Off the ball movement was excellent. As others have said, their high line helped. Loved seeing players spinning in behind though. So important to stretch them and create space. Seemed like the 8's broke well behind when PD came short. Very impressive.

My only issue with that is it's not as if Casadei isn't getting picked. Not starting as much as he and we expected (remember everyone saying he'd take Wilfs place pretty quickly) but he's getting pretty consistent and considerable game time
