Regarding Hamilton it's giving me Ricciardo 2018 vibes.  He'd just beaten Verstappen in 2017, was beating him again in 2018 but after he announced he was leaving for Renault in 2019 everything started going wrong with outright speed and reliability.

 

He finished 3rd only behind the Red Bulls just 3 months ago.  He hasn't declined to this extent in such a short space of time.

 

As for Verstappen at least the dreaded 100% for the season is now out of the window.

 

No doubt it will be back to normal next race lol

Too smart for his own good sometimes, didn't seem necessary and not just in the sense that it's dangerous. He was no closer to him than the previous laps where he wasn't troubled. Didn't he do something similar with Hamilton in Abu Dhabi?

Definitely sounded like a lift from Alonso going into that apex, which closed George right up. Certainly compared to the on boards from the lap before it was obvious there was a deceleration that didn't happen previously. Probably why he's been punished as they have all the throttle and brake data.

Mercedes car is comfortably 5th at the moment. AM looks more settled in high speed corner.

Gotta say I don't understand this Sainz hype. Don't think he's outshone Leclerc in his entire time with Ferrari up until his 3 races this season. Now he's being spoken about like Ferrari are letting a multiple world champion leave. Fair enough the other part of that is because it's widely believed they're replacing him with a fraud. Possible Sainz bas even upped his game this season because of his situation going forwards
