There were some reports that Forest were concerned about repercussions of appealing. So they obviously thought it was possible.

The PL has been stung pretty hard by the appeals process do to making rules up on the fly.

 

Unless it defined in the rules I don't think they could make it stick.

We're already 3-0 up against them and the EFL, I'd ****ing love to see us make it 4. But even as incompetent and irrationally as they've already behaved, I don't think they'd dare try that.

If they can try and hand a points deduction down to the EFL when there's no rule or precedent to do so, and try to fast track our case when those rules didn't apply to us, it's entirely plausible. In fact, I'd ****ing love it if they did. De Marco would have a field day and we'd be entirely justified in suing them.

There is 90 days between the end othe the current PL season and the new.

 

They would have to promote someone, we would appeal and probably challenge it a court if law, which would take more than 90 days.

 

You would have two teams and two league not knowing who in them.

 

Add to that the the Championship start 7 days earlier.

We would need to know the size of the breach as I think it work on the size of the breach.

Wouldn't be 90 days. Because I doubt they could do it before the June meeting when we become a member of the prem again.

On what grounds could they possibly justify even attempting to do it?

Do you think Forest or Everton would have risked a further deduction? Forest have just failed in theirs and not been given a deduction. This is quite simple stuff.

Not sure we did move far away from it… we tried to sign a lot of young talent, they were just mostly poor picks. We never only just signed young players, it’s about balance.

No but we balanced the books each year with a big exit, we should have in hindsight sold Tielemans or Maddison after the FA cup win. 
We definitely had a bit of bad luck with injuries at bad times, that didn’t help.

People often say that you can't sell people unless offers come in, so I thought it was curious that Praet said the club had previously held out for a higher price for him, after receiving an offer. It goes to show that, on at least one occasion, we were turning down bids for unwanted players.

 

Obviously I understand that there's a balance to be struck between getting a good fee and having your pants pulled down, but it might add some weight to the argument that the club could and should have been doing more to clear the decks.

Depends what Torinos offer was. At the end of the day is might have been so low the club felt it was better to retain him as a squad player.
