If that is what's happened it's not just a cock up but one of the most reckless and atrocious business decisions in football I've ever ever seen. Our compliance with PSR was a disaster waiting to happen.

And if they hadn’t moved heaven and earth to keep him at the time people would also slate them. For the first few years he looked like a genius which is easy to forget.

That’s the pitfalls of owning a football club, it’s not a popularity contest. 
That being said, I’d still prefer they rolled the dice and take big risks.

It’s just a shame they were convinced to step away from the model that had bought us such decent success by Rodgers.

It's indefensible. Giving him a new contract just 6 months in to him being here is one thing and I understand why we did and even the salary increase but the rest of his contract due in full in the year of sacking (if that's what we are to believe) is absolutely insane.

Surely it'll be 6-8 pts

If it's 8 we'll probably appeal.

If it's 6 we may take it....in case we lose any appeal & it's upped to 8.

You can't be punished for appealing!

 

It's will be 6 at most they set the bar with the benchmarking statement in the Everton appeal.

They never increase deductions because teams have appealed.

They staked the ranch on him for no good reason. I remember thinking it was highly surprising at the time.

It was based on the assumption that everyone had taken a 40% relegation pay cut, so the promotion clause was meant to cover the wages going back to PL levels. Problem is that they had also included it for players who had signed contracts in the summer.

Couldn’t agree more, extending Brendan’s contract at the time made perfect sense but it should have had a standard termination clause of 12 months pay nothing more, absolute madness and incredibly naive of us to negotiate an extended contract and not agree a fixed severance package.

Not me never wanted the cvnt here. The Liverpool and celtic fan's called it right.

 

He's up his own arse. Saying he had players not good enough for the prem. From a cvnt that only played semi pro.

 

He was given way to much control. The beginning of our total miss management that's resulted in this total fvcking mess.

 

I have very little trust in our present owner to get us sorted out. Yes I'm glad we've gone up but like the FA cup it cuts little ice for me. I'll always look at the big picture. This title like the FA cup don't put the big picture right.

 

He never looked like a genius. Both seasons he monumentally fvcked up. He changed what was a winning formula to his boring sideways backwards football to throw it away.

 

Just like Enzo pep ball only works properly if you have peps budget.

They ain't telling us until June when we officially join the prem at the earliest.

 

Until that meeting we are still an EFL team. If they announce it before we probably have a greater chance legally to squash it.

Everton won one before that because 10 was considered disproportionate.

 

I would say that the benchmark has been set by these two precedents; if so, that means we'll get no fewer than 4 and no more than 6.
