FA Cup win or Promotion

Seems like a worrying % of our fans actually want us to lose on Sunday so we can "concentrate on the league".

We should go for it. They aren't all that and will definately be fearful of an upset.

Absolutely no excuses not to be full strength against Chelsea, 12 days off till Bristol C.

There should definitely be rotating still, but we should go with a full strength squad.

We still have a fair amount of internationals in our side. Its not 12 days off for all of them

All out for Chelsea.

All out for Bristol City.

There's no point resting for Chelsea when we have 2 weeks before the next league game and our exposure to internationals is quite limited. Nothing for Choudhury, Coady, Nelson, Justin, Doyle, Vestegaard, Winks, Mavi, Vardy, Cannon to do during international break so it's not like our whole squad will be away on duty.

Hermansen

Choudhury Coady Vestegaard Doyle

Winks

Fatawa Ndidi KDH Marcal

Vardy

What do you deem a fair amount?

Think you'll be hard pushed to find many who will actually be playing during the international break.

Daka, Souttar (who cares), Faes the only regular starters?

Promotion is the priority for me but that’s not to say I want us to go out the cup as seems to be the accusation levelled by people sometimes at those with this view.

What I don’t get is why a lot of people are treating this as a unique opportunity to have got this far in the cup….we are actually very good in the cups at getting to the later stages so this is hardly a rare opportunity for us that is worth throwing away a seasons work for.

Keepers don't really count here, plus I'd start Stolarczyk anyway as he's been incredible for us so far.

Travel element shouldn't be forgotten about but don't think we should be resting anyone for a game of this magnitude based on them flying to Vienna for meaningless friendlies.

Also a complete waste of time, effort, energy and £ for fans for the three previous games in the cup leading up to this.

If you're gonna lob yourself out of a cup competition do it at the first hurdle, don't get to the quarter-finals and then think "nah sack it"

I also think people underestimate the joy of football. I was one of the lucky ones at the 2021 Final. I'd love a day out at Wembley with 25,000+ other Leicester fans. It would be incredible, it would be memorable and fantastic. What it won't do it guarantee we'll cost ourselves promotion.

The whole "promotion or FA Cup" is such an artificial debate because they're not connected really. The FA Cup isn't going to cost us promotion, and promotion won't cost us the FA Cup. Clickbait nonsense really.

Of course they are connected stop being so ridiculous, it’s the same squad playing in both.  lol

Hes played a reserve side in every round so i’d say thats more on the ‘sack it off’ side of things then Enzo wanting us to go for it 😂

I said this on another thread… we want both

play off final is scheduled for Sunday 26th May (if we are being pessimistic)

fa cup final is scheduled for Saturday 25th May (if we are being optimistic)

This is a good point, and I think touches on one of the reasons why cup the PL and/or CL now dominate a lot of fans thinking. I am sure more people now follow an English team than say 15-20 years ago, certainly abroad but also in England itself. At the same time I reckon a smaller percentage actually go to games, and play out a lot of their fandom online or occasionally socialising with friends. So the competitions that get the most publicity at home and abroad - Premier League, Champions League - are the ones these fans are most invested in. And the cup competitions that, in my opinion offer a better fan experience, are seen as an annoyance.

Promotion for the money.

In hindsight I consider myself very lucky to be at Wembley in 2021, and would love to see us do it again with 80000 there instead of 20000. I know we are three games away but to win it again this year, looking at the other teams left, would  really require something special.

Agree.  Yes promotion is priority but this is the quarter finals of the cup.  When do you start taking it seriously if not now?

Besides all that, 6000 fans are making the effort to get down to London at I would estimate, over 100 quid a pop for ticket, transport, food, drink etc.  The club and Enzo have a duty and a moral obligation to the fans who have coughed up hard earned money and travelled to field a strong side and have a proper go at this.

Nb. I'm well aware morals and football are rarely found together these days.
