Would you have been happy with the current league position regardless of what lead we had within the season

Of course. Doesn’t mean it isn’t frustrating that we let a 17 point lead turn into a 1 point deficit.

This is such a loaded question

That is a shameless deflection because you don’t like this particular load. lol

Have got no expectations.

Just to hope the fortunes turn around and to enjoy the roller-coaster of watching the game.

And not taking football too seriously.

id not heard of enzo mavididi fatz cannon or doyle as don't read up on stuff now much  and thought wilf dake nacho and chow would go by transfer window in summer shutting so on that its great to be where we are but i have now come to point where i agree with many on forum that this style is overdone and the away defeats at last 3 were shocking  . the answer is yes though .  iv confused myself now.:surrender: still a good question though , i think:facepalm:

The flip of this question is early on last season Ian Stringer tweeted a ‘would you take 17th now?’.

Many said ‘no’ but those people were not wrong because we ended up getting relegated. Both 17th and any of the relegation spots was an utter disgrace for that squad. We were right to have higher expectations.

This season it’s the reverse. Yes many would have taken top 2 at the start of the season and being in with a shout right at the death. But that completely misses the fact our expectations were too low to begin with once you saw the gulf in class in the early part of the season and that we were on record-breaking pace.

Hindsight is 20/20 of course, but for anyone to claim we’d had a great season based on the final position in the table would miss so many nuances. The question, albeit an interesting one to ponder, is too cut and dried for the context.

Maybe we weren't as good as our early points total and amount victories suggested? We won quite a few games against opposition who squandered brilliant chances to score against us. I remember being quite shocked at the level of finishing in this league compared to The Prem.

Absolutely YES of course but ... just like when Rodgers was attaining 5th place in the Premiership, just sensed and knew that their was a falsity about the supposed achievement which was wafer thin and that reality and demise was on the not so distant horizon.

The position, like before, is built largely on the individual skill of certain players and not the performance of a team due to mostly poor management.

In this second phase of the prophecy, the 'better' players have been of lower quality than the first ie looking good in the Championship and not the Premiership. If we don’t get a better manager or the current one doesn't adapt his stubborn ways, then the third phase is going to be far more difficult to take. We could be down among the dead men for years.

What this doesn’t take into consideration is that there are 4 good sides in this division, all four have had exceptional runs of form and all four have had long wobbly runs, hence 3 games left and we are neck and neck.

We just happened to have had our run of exceptional form first which got us our lead.

If we win the league, we have had a great season. No questions about it, if we collect 95 points+ we’ve had a great season.

The only objective at the start of this season was to be promoted. If that’s as champions amazing. If it’s second great and if it’s via the playoffs we all have a great day out and the end result is the same.

If we fail to get promoted it has not been a successful season. It’s as simple as that.
