Not much mention of this so far, even on the BBC website.

Local girl I see.

Blue Peter, such a big part of many child's life growing up.

Biddy Baxter MBE (Joan Maureen Baxter), born in Leicester on the 25th May 1933, has sadly died today at the age of 92 in London. Educated at Wyggeston Girls School, she is best known for editing the long-running BBC TV children's magazine show Blue Peter from 1965 to 1988. As editor of the programme, she devised much of the format that was used throughout it all of it’s years. I had the great pleasure of talking to this lovely lady, about a charity donation, from a Hinckley Event which might have been interesting as an item on Blue Peter in 1970. 🛡️

Billy Budd

I remember seeing that on TV when I was still at secondary school and it making a big impression. I've never seen it since.

It quite disturbed me at the time, but I'm unsure exactly why - the themes of brutal bullying and fatal injustice, I presume.

Yes. I've only seen it once and that was on tv about 30 years ago at least. Robert Ryan as the bully certainly made me uncomfortable. Must watch it again. RIP Terence Stamp

Jerry Adler, 96, Hesh in The Sopranos. RIP.

That final episode he was in was ever so sad in so many ways.

A fine boxer and athlete, but had the misfortune to be around a rich crop of heavyweights when at his peak.

Very useful in his prime. Probably could have been more aggressive. Suffered a bit when he won a controversial verdict over the ever popular Henry Cooper.
