Christos Mandas - Lazio to Leicester

Extending the contract of Danny Ward for another 5 years has to be more important than this signing??  surely? #GetitdoneRudders

We wouldn't make much, no one in the PL will be interested, be lucky to make 2 or 3m

Iversen is an interesting one. As a traditional goalkeeper, he’s actually really good.

Stolarkzyk could fetch big money to the right buyer, as he potentially has a big, big future.

They’re academy products so they’re both profit on the bottom line. £15m in for them if someone like Chelsea wants a British registered goalkeeper.

Then we spread the cost of £12m for the incoming player over 4 years, so £4m per season and we aid the PSR / finance challenge.

It all depends on what we can get for the academy products.

I believe our promotion has triggered a 500k payment to  Brondby for Mads. i sincerely hope we are not that strapped for cash that this has anything to do with things!

At present who would actually be in for Mads though, realistically?

Can't see anyone tbh. Maybe Brighton. Possibly abroad?

im not suggesting he would be a starter for them but Man City's no.2 is supposedly off this summer. I do feel like we are going to see a few more deals between the two teams  as we seem to be playing a similar style  and a transition either way would be smoother as players wont have to re-learn a new style.

I thought he looked suspect in games for us Fulham etc, a quick check and it doesn’t make great reading.

He’s one of the worst keepers I’ve seen at professional level and I’m not exaggerating.

He can’t save a damn thing. First goal was bad enough but the second was pathetic.

Any shot on target and you fear it’s a goal.

Another wonderful decision from the manager

Besides the QPR game I don’t recall Iversen making a single save.

He’s ****ing wank.

Not a chance we get 15m for the pair, you'll be lucky to get more then 3 or 4m

I couldn't disagree with this post any more. Mads is as comfortable with the ball as any keeper and I reckon there is a shortage of ball playing keepers. He's better than Chelsea or Arsenals keepers for a start and is probably out second best saleable asset behind KDH.

If FFP is as big a problem as I think it might be, I reckon Mads is gone. Then it just depends of Stolarcyk is good enough for the prem or if Enzo thinks he needs replacing.

Forget the other clowns we have.

Well, to start with, Danny SUCKS! At least clowns go through rigorous tests to earn title of clown... Next, look at those freaky, smiling faces they wear!!! Tell me they don't have demented ideas!!! Now finally, comparing a League 2, at best,GK to a professional clown, you deal with the repercussions!!! This is all TIC!!!

Newcastle comes to mind as they've conceded some soft goals.

Man City and Liverpool aside I could see any of the rest considering Mads.

Given his age etc, He could command 40mil.

Which might allow us to keep KDH next Season.

I guess only Enzo knows what he wants for next season.

Mads is comfortable on the ball but he hasn't proven himself at the top level yet where he'll be under more pressure more often and have to make better decisions quicker. It's also far less with how good you think Mads is and more about the other clubs need and finances to make a move for an unproven goalkeeper, which is what he is. Raya has won the golden glove and was taken on loan to buy purely to make it look better on the accounts. And Arsenal are apparently ready to move on Ramsdale, who Newcastle are interested in because Pope is made of Ryvita and Howe has worked with Ramsdale before. Chelsea have Petrovic and Sanchez to compete for their number 1 spot with the formers injury the reason for Petrovic being able to showcase himself. I don't think in that situation they just throw them both out and bring in a keeper with no top flight credentials. Besides, they're currently spunking their money on Brazilians so they won't have anything left for a keeper.

Then you work your way down the teams in the league and there doesn't seem any apparent need for a keeper until you get to the likes of Forest. So when I said who would be in for him realistically, I wasn't asking who do you think has a keeper that Mads is better than. That's a different thing. He needs to be better than their option, THEY need to believe he's better and they need to have the finances to prioritise that particular transfer over others, AS WELL as make it worth our while, and given the financial state of clubs at the moment I think that's a very small number of clubs with a low likelihood of it happening.

This is all assuming that we're talking about him moving for a number 1 berth. I actually think the biggest danger could be if Man City let Ortega go. Being a number 2 isn't that appealing but number 2 at a club that get a lot of games, pay a lot of money, win a lot of titles as understudy to a keeper that's had a decent number of injury problems this season and has a couple of years left on his contract, might be the biggest danger for us.

I just don't see anybody spunking £40mill on a keeper untested at the level. Next year maybe, this year, no. And £40mill? That'd make him the 3rd most expensive keeper in history. Let's hope that's the case if he does go.

He's still learning but he could have huge upside.

He's already the top Championship GK. Top players from the Championship tend to go for 20to 30 million.

Goalkeeping is such a specialist position he could command more. He's already proved he's right up todate for the modern game.

If he stays and has another good season who knows but we could be talking 70 million to get him from us.

In another thread people are saying that the top goal scorer in the championship this season should be no more than £8million, but in this thread a reasonable championship keeper is £30million!

I am confused!

One is top prospect on the way up and one is looking for their last contract, as well you know. lol

It’s clear that we are going to go back to our previous model of buying  cheap( ish) young with potential and selling for a profit. We tried to step away a little bit from that and  it went wrong.   Mads will be gone with one good season, if the right offer comes in, we might already be preparing for that day with this guy..
