Just what i’ve seen on twitter. You’re forgetting how fickle fans can be.

Swansea fans weren’t bothered to see him go, they were sick of him touting for other jobs. I think you are forgetting they’ve had Martinez and Potter in recent years, they won’t be craving for Steve Cooper

MON was managing Norwich and we looked set to appoint Mike Walker as our next manager.

We played (West Brom I think it was) on a Sunday afternoon, David Nish was in charge and it was the match when he brought Heskey on as a sub for his first appearance who went on the score the winner.

Anyway, it was on Central TV and Mike Walker was the expert pundit in the studio and by all accounts spent the match slagging off our defence (I was at the match so heard this second hand) and most people were not happy at all that he was to be our next manager.

O'Neill walked out of Norwich and took over at Leicester, so there was probably a lot of relief that we weren't getting Walker, as well as the excitement.

A lot of people were very anti O'Neil for the same reason that people don't want Cooper now.

Yeah I was also at that game and we spent the whole time talking about Mike Walker … MON wasn’t in the running at all. When the rumours started I remember everyone being delighted and not giving a hoot about Forest

When Cooper was sacked by Forest, they were sitting 17th in premier league five points above the drop with the chairman signing players left, right and centre. Nuno steps in by the end of season they finished 17th... stayed up yes but league position wise no difference and six points above the bottom three.

If you look Cooper's career he's decent success and shown progression

2017: England Under 17's: Fifa Under 17's World Cup Winners

2017: England Under 17's: Under 17's European Championship Runners Up

2019: Takes over at Swansea City- Previously finished 10th in the championship under Potter,

2020: Play Off semi finalists after finishing 6th

2021: Play Off runners up after finishing 4th... Cooper quits after (Since then Swansea City have failed to make the play offs)

2021: Cooper takes over at Forest with them sitting bottom of the championship in late September

2022: Cooper guides Forest to promotion via the play offs

2023: Forest survive in the premier league finishing 16th, four points above the drop

I do feel we would do a lot worse, I do feel people are basing it more that he's ex forest, the idea of appointing your rivals reject. If it wasn't Forest and say it was someone like Everton or Fulham I think he would be a popular appointment.

You can spin things however you like. If you are happy with this appointment then that’s fine. But absolutely nothing suggests he is a successful PL manager. As ever time will tell.

Forest drastically improved under Nuno and also got the 4 points knocked off. They were far less negative. And I know it was funny at the time but they really were done by decisions that easily puts another 4 points on their total.

Would have been 10 points above the bottom 3 if they hadn't been docked 4 points, Nuno did a good job following Coopers 1 win in 13 prior to his sack.

The Potter who got them 10th compared to Cooper’s 6th and 4th?

Cooper is not the most exciting appointment, more realistic under the current circumstances. You can go out there and appoint a Steve Bruce, who as shocking record at the level playing the most negative football.

Cooper 5 points ahead, Nuno 10 points ahead. So he extended it by 5 points over more games. Sounds like exactly the same job…. How about comparing all the games rather than selectively ignoring the first 5 games lol

So we should just judge him on a good 6 months at Forest or his whole tenue?

Do you think we should target a manager with a 20% win ratio in the PL?

The point was you described what is objectively, a good achievement (much better really) and said it was bang average. That's nonsense.

But if you get into the context of it, he kept Forest up when they were a complete s*** show and from a promotion they were completely unprepared for. Constantly had job uncertainty when he was there.

I completely understand why people don't want him or aren't very enthusiastic about it (me included) but why does everyone have to try and peddle a narrative on one end of the extreme, as though it's fact?

Are you suggesting Cooper is a better manager than Potter based on that?

Is the Cooper dislike purely because he used to manage Forest.

He's just not a good prem manager. 1 win in 13 in his last games is not good enough.

I just don't rate him.

If you do that's fine.

I’m suggesting he did a better Job at Swansea than the mighty Potter did.

Dyche went winless for 13 with Everton would people take him?

Sugar coat it as much as you like, Cooper was on a downward spiral, the owners saw that, sacked him and survived. if you want to ignore his losing streak, that is your choice, 2 seasons at the bottom of the Premiership with Cooper in charge does not make him an attractive option for Leicester City.

You don't say, but I assume you mean Coopers first 5 games,

1. Lost to Arsenal

2. Beat Sheffield Utd (Relegated)

3. Lost to Manchester Utd.

4. Beat Chelsea. (Who were equally shocking at the time)

5 Drew with Burnley (Relegated)

Followed by 1 win in 13

If a Leicester City manager provided stats like that, I'd expect him to be sacked.

You seem to think, wrongly, that I have a personal grudge against Cooper, I have said all along that I doubt his credentials as a Premier League manager, I'm not interested in his Championship successes, I judge him on his Premier League performance which has not been great. In all walks of life, people reach their potential, maybe Cooper reached his in the Championship. If he proves otherwise in the future, then good luck to him.

Literally nothing has changed in the past few days. There are no credible reports that he’s been offered it, just that he’s being considered along with others. The odds haven’t budged an inch. The club probably hasn’t made a decision yet and may still be interviewing candidates.

Has he ?
