I know it’s been mentioned on other threads, but worth its own thread. Even if he was only here for a few months, he was a brilliant player in his brief time here who was head and shoulders above the rest of his teammates.

This is a confirmed false statement that's going around on social media and not from Kevin's family. As confirmed in the Everton statement

Taken from the statement from Everyon.

"Everton also confirmed that a statement being shared on social media about the details of Campbell's condition was false and is "not from the family of our former Blues striker"

The above needs removing.

He is very ill though and praying he pulls through.

Hope he makes a full recovery. Still remember him walking around Filbert Street at the end of his loan spell with the scarves thrown from fans. One of the best loan players we've had.

Preying for KC - was a huge beacon of light in the late 80s when we were pretty shite.

Met him in a Nottingham nightclub and gave him a huge hug and told him I loved his time with us. He was a real gentleman (I was completely hammered)

Hoping he pulls through.

Worked in a Notts hotel mnay moons ago. All the new forest signings stayed there until they found permanent digs.

Of all the footballers I met there, and there were many, he was one of the nicest. Always polite, always had time for people, just a genuinely nice fella.

I remember one evening a group of nurses having a pop at him for earning so much for kicking a ball around. You know the kind of thing. The way he dealt with that situation just always stuck with me.

Brilliant player but a better bloke.

He came at the same time as Paul Moran if I remember right

Campbell made a big impact and was a fans favourite with regular calls of sign him on.

There was a rumour we put a £800,00 bid in but I don't think Arsenal were ever seriously going to consider selling him.

We were crap at the time. But he obviously had talent.

Went onto have a great career.

Get well soon.

i remember part of the loan deal was that we would NOT put in an offer for him and unsettle him when the loan had finished. we did anyway lol.

Hiwever, it was my understanding that the offer was 400k. Which was still a lot of money for us at the time.
