The second time wasn’t great but that only on a temporary basis .

Similar to Micky Adams' time here. Got promoted and was very popular, a relegation that was "brave" then never got it going again.

 

Edwards' legacy there will be far greater but it is unusual a manager gets a team back a second time. Only Curbishley and Dyche in the last 25 years or so.

I don't think many managers last to get the team back up again lol Not sure if you will count Wilder as he left before going back to Sheffield United.

 

Looks like Edwards had a one off season. Lots of managers have done it. @Super_horns will remember Boothroyd well I'm sure.

Yes - was an excellent season tbf and great to beat Leeds at Cardiff but then really it was too soon and our better players got injured and AB struggled as our tactics were never going to work.

 

Graham Taylor got us promoted twice to the top flight almost 20 years apart but then that was just made to happen in a way. - fate.
