But Alves should start

I love that people expect him to play well when he’s not finished 90 minutes of football in 6 months.

Can’t be judged on that

Free entry which I assume Cov are footing the bill for.... decent.... still we charge £3 to sit at a training ground lol

I'm not suggesting they make the entire season free... but could definitely make games around half term and the ones pre christmas free at least.

No Alves in the squad, does that mean he might be in the squad for Sunday or are we still managing his fitness?

He’s a good prospect need to manage him properly with luck we will see him play a bigger part after Christmas

Unfortunately you’ve got a replacement coach in situ that has his own interests at heart. Playing younger players to keep them from signing elsewhere and forgetting about the talent that they have built up. Wormleighton is a class player no chances at all this season. Alves has lost his pathway he was promised to the first team. Golding was a money saving / laundering process not given any opportunity. Briggs fully backed by Enzo no chance this season. Don’t get me wrong the young ones are exciting but so were the above at 15/16/17 and have now been cut off from any reasonable prospect of playing despite being promised different.

I imagine they probably see more value in him playing against Northampton and Notts County, over this extra league cup fixture.

He’ll probably be with the squad this weekend though (not the named squad) as he does all his training with the first team.

Let’s be honest that injury has ruined Alves. I think we were all desperate to see him kick on as a local lad but he didn’t pull up any trees in pre season and in the cameo against Man U he looked slow and his touch looked poor. It’s unfortunate for him but he needs game time at adult football if he is to go on and make something of himself. Get him out on loan, he’s lost 2 years of his development and he can’t lose much more stagnating in the 21s

He’s still a couple of year younger than KDH was when he went out on loan - there is still time.

Get him out to league 1, even top end of league 2 if necessary for 6 months and see how he goes from there. Has to be playing men’s football every week.

For what it’s worth, went on the Northampton forum after the game - apart from being ecstatic they beat a PL team - they really rated Alves.

No Monga in the England squads.

Find it surprising Jake Evans doesn't get in the U17 / U18 squads. Monga often gets called up to play for England in games outside of international breaks, think the U16s do a fair bit of that.
