Genuine question, what does Ronaldo offer Portugal? He stays up front, doesn't track, doesn't make himself available, doesn't score free kicks and just throws his arms around. Time for him to retire.

The only time I see him involved in play is when he's blasting a free kick into the wall.

Would be a better attacking unit with Ramos or Jota up front

He's a talisman, a legend, the best of the best in many people's opinion.

Now he's the football equivalent of Debbie Harry.

These two and England can always be relied on to stink a tournament out no matter what level of ability.

France are bafflingly good at keeping teams at arms length. So many times you think they've conceded and they just don't.

These two defences are just adamant that nothing is getting past them!

Cant believe Pepe. Such a great CB over the years

If you are a Spain fan watching this, you are already thinking about the final

These tournaments always reward this shite. Guarantee Spain lose the semi.

Pepe is the definition of never give up

More worthy of a legendary status for Portugal than the cry baby.

I’ve always backed the BBC.

But having the Ferdinand and Jenas double act has made me sign up to the Defund the BBC campaigns

Spain were there for the taking by Germany in extra time so I'm not sure it's a given the winner of this goes out in the next round.

Tournament is wide open.

Ferdy is OK. Jenas has nothing worthwhile to bring

Dead right! So many tournos are won by teams who ponderously keep the ball, defend resolutely and have a couple of players who can score from anything.

Italy used to make it their trademark

Spain might as well give a few of the back up attackers a game in defence, because they certainly won’t be challenged.
