If he replaced Soumare in the squad I wouldn't be disappointed.

If we shipped out soumare and brought in skipp, I would be delighted.

You can get far better midfielders than Oliver Skipp for what Spurs would be asking for him. Definitely skipp this one.

PSR is dictating this, looks like we can spend big on one player and that’s likely to be a forward. Skipp on loan is a decent option.

We were willing to spend 9 mil on Zaha. Use that 9 mil on Mandela Keita and leave Skipp at Spurs at we will be better off.

We don't get Keita for 9m including wages (vs. Zaha where we paid a fee that covered wages).

No but we retain the asset/player.

Which could be a problem if we go down and the player honks.

See, Soumare, Daka etc

I wonder if the thing blocking us from signing him up to this point is our first game being against Spurs.

It would not be surprising at all if we end up getting him early next week; possibly essentially concluding the deal on Monday evening.

He wouldn't be allowed to play against Spurs anyway.

If it was a permanent he would.  I don't think it's been mooted as a loan has it?

Spurs have spent a lot despite selling Kane.

They want to sell.

I know. Barry was implying that a sale might have been delayed so he can't play vs Spurs in Mondays opener. Honeybradger was saying he wouldn't be able to play Spurs anyway.  Which would only apply to a loan.  Which they don't want.  So as Barry says a purchase might be being delayed so we can't play him against Spurs. Which we can't now.
