I believe Oliver wants out himself for first team football reasons - and that Spurs are willing to sell. Ipswich were rumoured to be the other interested party.

Yeah, you reminded me to look up Fotis rumours on Twitter… and instantly found this, so 😏 Basic translation; wants Sporting - we’ll. need Theo and Nikos to have words me thinks! Fotis Ioannidis is stepping up pressure on Panathinaikos directors to join Sporting. The forward made his decision a long time ago but the Greeks' elimination from the Europa League reinforced that desire. The next 4/5 days are decisive. 2
Happy Fox Posted 17 August 2024 Posted 17 August 2024 Some talk Spurs want 20m for him which is a bit too much!

kingpowerout Posted 18 August 2024 Posted 18 August 2024 Don’t feel the slightest bit excited about this. Is he the answer? 1
Nolucklcfc Posted 18 August 2024 Author Posted 18 August 2024 I don’t really see how this is a replacement for KDH? Isn’t he a winks type player?
Popular Post FoxesWalk Posted 18 August 2024 Popular Post Posted 18 August 2024 Skipp and Winks will be extremely solid for promotion bid next season, don’t mind this at all 5
kingpowerout Posted 18 August 2024 Posted 18 August 2024 Cooper highlights his desperation for attacking reinforcements… Rudkin: I know! Oliver Skipp. 2 goals and 1 assist in 6 years of senior football make it make sense
kingpowerout Posted 18 August 2024 Posted 18 August 2024 All I can think is that Cooper wants to create a very solid holding pair that sit in front of the defence - which allows 4 very fluid attacking midfielders/ forwards to do the damage. might work in away games when we have less of the ball and can counter 1
Ed 1 Posted 18 August 2024 Posted 18 August 2024 (edited) Sensible signing, albeit not overly exciting. 23 yo and needs to be playing regular football. Still would prefer to spend money elsewhere and move Ricardo to sit with Winks but don’t think Cooper sees this as an option sadly. Edited 18 August 2024 by Ed 1 2
Mark Posted 18 August 2024 Posted 18 August 2024 If you've got Winks, Ndidi, Choudhury, Soumare you don't just buy another of the same. He's a bit more tenacious than Winks but there's no variety there at all, and certainly no goals.
Cropwellfox Posted 18 August 2024 Posted 18 August 2024 Hopefully this means there’s a loan exit for Soumaré incoming. Get the waste of a wage out the club 2
RyCleary Posted 18 August 2024 Posted 18 August 2024 Him and Winks as first choice pivot makes sense. Don’t rate Ndidi at all anymore, not good enough on the ball and has seemingly lost his incredible defensive ability
TheGoldenGod Posted 18 August 2024 Posted 18 August 2024 The Daily Mail and The Sun. I just don't buy it, purely because Skipp isn't doing anything for us. Where's the attacking output in any of these signings?
Ric Flair Posted 18 August 2024 Posted 18 August 2024 If it's a loan and Soumare is off then fine, but I still don't think he's all that. He'll be on decent wages as well, we are so baffling. 3
VLC86 Posted 18 August 2024 Posted 18 August 2024 Solid player, probably with one eye on where we are heading though but that’s where we are as a club.

He is immediately into best our starting XI alongside Winks I would imagine, is better than the rest of those names, not entirely sure why we extended Ndidi, but we did. Still think this position is low priority since we already have bodies there, but a better partner for Winks is needed. I’d probably have gone for more of a DLP type, but he is available and will do well for us in the Championship. 1

After Winks and Ndidi, we're severely lacking in quality in midfield.
honeybradger Posted 18 August 2024 Posted 18 August 2024 Honestly I just cant see how we're going to even be close to staying up this season. Especially if we're targeting Skipp.
