Ha, in fairness I was talking about Rudkin

I think it's just as much Top himself, the book stops with him. It's been several years now of bad buys, ridiculous contracts and the mismanagement of funds leading to PSR issues. That's not just Rudkin but either way, Top is the one who hires and fires and he's either disinterested, sleepwalking or clueless.

Get Braybrooke back and on loan again. Some moves just don't work out. Kasey McAteer barely got a sniff at Forest Green Rovers and was only marginally more successful at Wimbledon but he at least played more and then came back and Enzo used him immediately.

I know we’re a bit light on the wings but I’d personally send Mcateer out on loan for the rest of the season too. If he can get regular minutes in the championship I think that’ll only benefit him and us.

Interesting that replies to that news on Dundee twitter were that he didn't get a chance as opposed to not being good enough.

Get him into league 1 asap

Was never fond of that move. For me he's better than Dundee FC and reckon L1 or lower champo should give him a go! Did they change manager recently or something because from what I see, he barely played at all.

He has to prove it, he had a lot of minutes in the first 3 games.

Based on the fact he couldn't get a game would say he currently isn't!

Or he wasn't what they needed? Don't know much about that club and how they play.

Many cases of many players not being able to get into a team...doesn't mean they aren't good enough. A million different factors at play pal.

Amani Richards needs to be recalled as well. Far too talented to be sat in Exeters reserves. Get him out to League 2 at the least if he’ll be given games

Wait....so what's the difference between what you've said here and what you're arguing about Braybrooke? :D

From the Dundee forum:

Braybrooke just never really lived up to the hype. Looked tidy enough and I bet he would be a great 5-a-side player but some of his free kicks/corners were awful and that was apparently one of his strengths. On top of that, he just wasn't able to compete physically.

It's a mixed bag on Twitter from not good enough to didn't get enough of a chance.

I said Richards is far too talented to be sat in Exeters reserves. He should be playing first team football somewhere in the EFL. I didnt say hes better then the starting 11 that he cant get in

I don't think it's about being good enough in Sammy's case it's whether he has the physicality to make an impact.

Definitely seems like he'd be better in England league two or one playing for one of the many pep-lite managers in the lower leagues.

Well my main point before was I just didn't like the fit. If its a physicality issue then we probably should have done a bit more research on the best route to take for a kid recently off the back of a horrific long term injury but as been mentioned before, seems like there were reasons for him to go Dundee at the time.

Think Braybrookes main issue is his massive lack of physicality which makes him far too lightweight in mens football atm. Its all good  being technical but players like Dewsbury Hall, Ben Nelson, Barnes etc were built like men when they went out on loan which allowed them to compete. Braybrookes still built like a teenager. Needs a year on the weights

Sorry it didn't work out for Braybrooke at Dundee but in my mind it always appeared to be a strange loan. Get him out at a league one or league two club that's reasonably local to home.

It more and more feels like another things where we've taken the non league approach of doing things through word of mouth rather than using data analysis/professionalism to find him the best match.

"Madders said that the gaffer helped him develop at Aberdeen"

"Sound, you're off to Scotland Sammy, it's for best trust us"

Proximity is something that matters for young players.

The successful Barnes and KDH loans were at clubs that were about a 2 hour drive away max. They can see their family, friends, coaches, nutritionists, loan manager (or whatever) more often and it's easier to physically keep tabs on the player. Shipping somebody to Scotland makes sense if it's nailed on they get minutes, in the right sort of set up and there is no equivalent move.

Port Vale, Mansfield, Northampton etc would have been better moves for Braybrooke 'a TeAm HaS tO wAnT tHem', I know that but there are about 20 teams that would have fitted the bill.

Dundee Football Club can confirm that midfielder Sammy Braybrooke has left the club after being recalled from his season-long loan by his parent club Leicester City.

Sammy joined The Dee on the 28th August 2024 and during his time played eight times for the Dark Blues.

Everyone at the club would like to thank Sammy for his service and contribution to the club and wish him well for the rest of his career.

Think burton could be a good loan for either alves or braybrooke. They’re struggling in league one so want all the help they could get and other loans there have had some level of success
