In time he wouldn't look out of place in the Man City midfield. With De Bruyne, Silva and Gundogan getting on abit, I can see them putting in a +50M offer for him, if Pep stays around.

Yes, far more likely is that Brighton never get to see him playing for them.

A breakout season with us, he could be sold for big money to a CL club next summer.

Be thankful that we have him.

A real highlight of the season and will be sad to see him move on. I just hope it doesn't happen in January! If he does enough to keep our noses out of the bottom 3 then he will be fondly remembered for a long time here.

I’m sure you meant playing for us again, but remember that Buonanotte has played about 50 times for our first team. Shades of when Leeds “discovered” Ben White, despite his previous loans and the odd first-team appearance for us. Much like Buonanotte, we extended his contract before he went on loan not only to protect our interests, but to signal to the player this is isn’t a permanent thing and we see his future at the club.

You may well be right that he moves on after his loan, but with a contract until 2028 we’ll be doing well financially off the deal.

And, not replying to you specifically on this, but assuming he continues his superb form you, £35m is way, way off the mark.

Yup, fair points. Better would've been that Brighton might not get chance to enjoy him.

Fwiw, he isn't there at top level yet. But he has ALL the hallmarks he could be very soon. First three or four games he was finding his feet. Next three or four he started to blossom. I think within the next four or five with confidence and form, he'll have become our best player

Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing the Argentine winger Facundo Buonanotte.

The 19-year-old Brighton winger is currently on loan at Leicester City and he has impressed with the Foxes so far. His performance attracted the attention of the North London club and a report from Fichajes claims that they have ‘set their sights’ on signing the South American.

Brighton are willing to sell him for a fee of around €50 million and it will be interesting to see if Spurs are ready to pay up.

Tottenham could certainly use more quality in the wide areas, especially with Son Heung-min in his twilight years and Richarslison struggling to live up to the expectations due to mediocre performances and injury problems.

Buonanotte would be a quality long-term acquisition for Tottenham if they can get the deal done. The asking price might seem like a premium right now, but the 19-year-old has the potential to justify the investment in the coming seasons.

He is well-settled in English football and he could make an immediate impact at Tottenham if he joins the club. Wilson Odobert, Brennan Johnson and Facundo Buonanotte could sort out the wide areas for Tottenham for the foreseeable future.

If he helps us stay up I would have no quarms about spending £50m on him as he’s going to be a superstar we know we would make a profit on him to Chelsea about a year later. Fact is someone bigger will be in for him and we have no chance

Well that little snippet states €50mill which is close to £40mill.

For that kind of money, I imagine we show interest. Though I don't expect Brighton sell for that kind of money. However they did sell MacAllister for £35mill rising to £55mill to Liverpool, so it's not all £100mill Caicedos.  But Brighton will be shopping around for players of the £40-50mill bracket for their own team if they finish this season well and with the possibility of Europe, so why shop for it when they already have one contracted to them?

Made too many bad decisions today. Repeatedly over playing it and headed into traffic. But he's our best player. So he feels he has to try and make things happen.

Sometimes less is more.

likewise Fatawu and Ayew

Banned for the Chelsea game, a joke he was the only player booked yesterday for a nothing tackle when Man Utd got away with multiple bad tackles and professional fouls without a single booking.

Rather he was banned for the 5-0 pasting we're getting against Chelsea as opposed to the Brentford or West Ham games where we might actually pick up a point or two.

I think he'll end up a top player, but I can see why Brighton were happy to loan him out in the short term.

His decision-making isn't great, and he seems give the ball away often, which makes us vulnerable in transitions.

Reminds me very much of a young Grealish. You could tell he was very talented, but I used to like him being on the opposing team, as you could reliably get the ball back off him in good areas and spring on teams.

Football is all about entertainment for me though, so I'd have him in the team every week regardless of the above. Love watching him.

Oh, is Chilwell banned too?
