If we had just come off a 7 game winning streak, but then lost like yesterday how many of these posts would have been posted? I guess a lot of them? I remember Enzo losing the odd game, then people came out screaming 'see! He's stubborn!' It's just hilarious really.

If a lot of our fans were arsenal fans, they would definitely have wanted arteta sacking after the Bournemouth defeat....

No.

Pre season

Villarreal- They were better and we got lucky

Shrewsbury - We should’ve dominated and we didn’t, we were once again, lucky.

Palermo -Deservedly beaten, outplayed and didn’t look as fit as a side who sharted their pre-season AFTER us.

Augsburg- outplayed and deservedly lost against a poor Bundesliga team who had lost their best players.

Lens- we were pathetic, team with a budget and squad worse than ours completely outplayed and battered us.

Tottenham - first 55 mins was genuinely some of the most one sided football I’ve ever seen and Spurs should’ve been 5-6 Up. Extremely lucky to draw.

Fulham- pathetic. Just pathetic.

Tranmere- only game this season we have been the better side.

Villa- scared and pathetic

Palace- decent and then completely pants and manager single handily cost us 2 pts.

Everton- awful, lucky to draw.

Walsall- outplayed by a league two side. Lucky.

Arsenal- should’ve been 9-1 to Arsenal, not 4-2.

B’mouth- extremely lucky to win. Deserved to lose.

Southampton - equally as pathetic first half before a Southampton implosion and lucky win with a scuffed Ayew shot after Southampton missed chances WITH 10 MEN.

Forest- Utter crap, another unforgivable display that will live long in the memory.

Add all this to the leaked comments from JJ.

How on earth can ANYONE defend the clown and his staff.

GET HIM GONE.

Absolutely spot on. No one watching these games can disagree with any of that.

Those in rose tinted specs thought we were in good form after a couple of wins. The realists knew how lucky we were.

Hey we will need luck from time to time but you can’t rely on it.

what a load of bollocks. the reason people aren't having Cooper is because he's not capable of a 7 game winning streak or even anywhere close to it.

Arsenal v Bournemouth had the mitigating circumstances of having a player sent off early, yesterday was simply the result of a manager who is tactically inept and cannot motivate a team for shit (have we ever come out the blocks at the start of either half under this clown?)

It’s hard to be Cooper out because I was never Cooper in.

It isn’t a surprise that we don’t look very good under Steve cooper, a manager who’s been a youth coach, an OK championship manager and a failed PL manager. Most of us fans could have told you what was going to happen before he was even appointed.

I’m not really sure where we go from here though. The people in charge of the club don’t know anything about football and won’t budge so we’re stuck in this weird state of occasionally stumbling onto some good form (see last season) and occasionally being absolutely horrific (relegation and probably this season).

We don’t have the owners to implement a strategic plan like Villa for example, so we just have to hope we keep accidentally getting some things right. It’s a strange one.

I suppose the ultimate goal is for King Power to sell up but until then, we’re just going to keep plodding along down the path of mediocrity.

"Well you got what you wanted...and we were still shit!"

As if it's justification for keeping a manager is genuinely melting my brain

In 2022 Gerrard was doing the exact same thing with Villa before they sacked him and got a serious manager in. It was all the same complaints from their supporters.

Granted there probably isn't a Unai Emery on the market but there has to be someone with the ability to organise this rabble.

If you didn't think this season would be turbulent - with the good, the bad, the ugly and the shambolic. Then you were remarkably optimistic. Cooper is part of the problem. But not the whole of it. This is going to be a painful and exhausting season regardless. Just strap in and take a deep breathe.

Enzo got similar last season.

The fact is, people shut up for a couple of games until a defeat comes in. We were 14th after 8 games. If that was below expectations coming in to the season, then people had the wrong expectations for the season.

We seem to have this weird mix of, we are terrible, and certain to get relegated, but being 6 points clear of the relegation zone after 8 games still wasn't good enough some how.

I'd love to live in the same world as you where Steve Cooper is capable of going on a 7 game winning streak.

Unfortunately I live in the real world where Coops has the same amount of managerial ability of the ball of snot i've just picked out my hooter.

This is a great comparison 👍

Yeah there'll be loads of exciting / good managers who'd jump at the chance to get a gig with us. However I don't trust our board to go after them like Villa did Emery. Might as well tell the graphic designers to start putting together a Gareth Southgate social post right now

Still want him out

Yes, I do, because we can all see what needs doing, re the team selection and tactics, but he can’t  That said if he keeps winning, I will get behind him, because the bottom line is I want LCFC do stay up and progress as a team. I just don’t think he’s right for us in the long term.

Our fan base is a lot of things but I don't think they deserve talking down like this tbh.

Maresca lost (/drew) the odd game here and there throughout the season and was still very well backed. Form towards the end of the season though was borderline inexcusable given the squad we had, however you want to carve it up, and people were understandably frustrated as we floundered.

If Cooper had just won 7 games and we'd lost last night I think people would get over it relatively quickly, despite the opposition. Let's not be daft.

The issue is, he hasn't just won 7 in a row. So it's not really an argument you can go in and make?

I'm not talking down the 'fan base'. I think it's a mistake to assume Foxes talk is representative of the fan base.

We are well clear of the relegation zone after a quarter of the season. Clearly forest are a well drilled, organised team, who are now 5th. Of course it's possible to lose games like that, and to even look terrible at times, that's just the nature of where we are as a team at the minute.

But we aren't even one of the 4 teams that have failed to win this season, and the moaning is off the charts.

What does success look like this season? Honestly?

when a manager reverts back to a previous managers system, you know he has no idea himself, his signings are utterly woeful, there is no plan, no in game tactics, no development of our young talents, why couldnt McAteer or Alves have got some minutes yesterday at 1 - 3 instead of brining on Soumare and Ayew. Bloke is useless, worse manager we've had in years

I think the problem some of the posters have are: a)if we did win seven or so games in a row then lost, they would then come out with the same complaints, like last season

B) there are posters who think we should be winning 7 games in a row, and if we aren't, they won't be happy....

Enzo got a level of vitriol after the 3 defeats in four from a run of Brizzle, Plymouth and Millwall away and Norwich at home, but it quickly dissipated, it was not anywhere near as sustained as this, because right from preseason this twat was stinking the place out.

For me, without the points deduction success isn't 17th. And success certainly isn't playing this unsustainable brand of tepid football.

Having the freak occurrence of 4 teams failing to win giving us daylight doesn't mean we're surpassing our own expectations. Not for me anyway. This squad is better than looking half functional for 30 mins a match.

Really, I even remember posts along the lines of: well, even if it's working here, it won't in the prem, sack him in the summer and get (insert dinosaur here) in.

And, 'but we didn't even get 100 points'

Wasn't there a poll late in the season with 75% wanting him out, with about 5 games to go?

Call me cynical but I reckon some player intervention went into playing that system (Enzo’s system) last night.

How can a manager let the players choose the team
