They shouldn’t.  They are not those protesting though.

Really - because his names been on every article I've read about this and there's a bloke who looks a hell of a lot like him at today's protest.

These Lunatics in power right now would rather see a scorched earth than trump in power. Like it or lump it these war mongering people are evil.

Tbf the scientific policies of the Trump administration will go a long way towards that scorched earth anyway - just perhaps not as quickly.

Fair enough, at least the self interest is in no way sugarcoated here then.

I suspect, however, that given the way things are going, the more serious consequences will arrive faster than that time frame.

NB. Trump may not want to pick a fight with Russia, but he seems rather bound and determined to pick one with China.

Also, presumably there come a point where the target readership cottons on that they're basically having the piss taken out of them and the terrible, dawning realisation triggers a lot of them to just walk into the sea

I'd love to know what constitutes a Woke filling.

Non woke - BLT, chicken, cheese and pickle, egg and cress, coronation chicken, tuna and sweetcorn, ham, sausage

Everything else is pretty woke.

The wokeness is not just in the filling imo, it's in how and where it's sold and who is likely to buy it. Egg and cress at Coop = not woke. 'Posh cheddar and pickle' at South Kensington pret = pretty woke.

I realize this contradicts my previous list of non woke fillings.

All the good ones then.

I had an All Day Breakfast sandwich from the Co-op today. There’s surely no way an All Day Breakfast is woke, but I’m worrying whether the Co-op might be.

How do you suspect Russia will respond to the ATACMS strikes? Nuclear escalation?

Well if gilt markets can be woke then surely it's not a push to say a sandwich can be woke.

From Wikipedia:

"Woke, the African-American English synonym for the General American English word awake, has since the 1930s or earlier been used to refer to awareness of social and political issues affecting African Americans, often in the construction stay woke. Beginning in the 2010s, it came to be used to refer to a broader awareness of social inequalities such as racial injustice, sexism, and denial of LGBT rights. Woke has also been used as shorthand for some ideas of the American Left involving identity politics and social justice, such as white privilege and reparations for slavery in the United States.[1][2][3]"

I mean, I read all that and it just made me hungry. When I went to the website a pop up appeared that congratulated me on being the very first visitor to that page, and therefore presumably also the very first person to actually check the meaning of the term in all history.

Bearing this in mind, it's a real relief that it hasn't been misappropriated in any way or rendered completely meaningless. That said, I can still get behind the plan to save time and money by nominating a coloured shape (yet to be decided) that can be displayed in order to trigger an instinctive hostile response when required. Yes it may put some journalists and commentators out of work but hey, that's progress

I don't think so. Putin knows as well as anyone that using that kind of weaponry crosses a line that cannot be uncrossed and doesn't get him what he wants. The changing of the wording regarding release of nuclear weapons by the Russian Federation doesn't really change much, when you look past the news that it has changed.

I would, however, expect a more withering conventional response targeting the civilian population of Ukraine.

The only situation I can see where the worst may well happen is if a situation arises that results in NATO and Russian combat forces actually and actively engaging each other in battle.

Thank you, I always appreciate your insights!

I get the impression this is just raising the stakes before Trump starts work as president (and potential improvement of US-Russia relations) but it’s still disconcerting.

I mean if you add quacamole you have an LGBT.
