Well when comparing to Man City, in their first season in the champions league they were knocked out in the group stage. So to reach a quarter finals is still an amazing achievement for any new club. Some pundits had us down to get knocked out in the group stage...

There was even talk about us ruining the English coefficient and subsequent loss of a place for Premier League clubs. We will be an embarrassment, they said :crylaugh:

We were arguably unlucky to go out at the QF stage.

 

A penalty wrongly given at the Calderon and we absolutely battered Atletico in the second leg.

 

How far we've fallen since.

The atmosphere that night was even better than Saville but not talked about as we didn't get the result. Griezmann was unbelievable. Second fastest player I've ever seen.

Interesting to see how it plays out next week in Madrid but fair play Arsenal. 3 goals and a clean sheet exactly what you want from a first leg.
