I know him and Evans will more than likely have a bigger future away from City, but at least give us something to look forward to next season by giving these pair minutes and a chance to properly shine.

We've sold three academy graduates in the last five years for a combined £110 million.

Not disputing that, just Monga has the wow factor like Heskey and Joachim that’s the difference

What impresses me most is his temperament. At 15, you wouldn't be surprised to see him holding the ball for too long or trying to do it all. He can take on his man but is more than capable of shifting the ball at the right moment to aid attacks. Genuinely frightening to consider his ceiling.

Agree on this, obviously has ability to beat players, but his awareness of when to hold it and play simple is years ahead of 15

However, Van Nistelrooy has revealed a trio of teenagers — Jeremy Monga, Jake Evans and Olabade Aluko, who made his first-team debut as a substitute in the final day 2-0 defeat at Bournemouth — are close to signing contracts.

In the case of 15-year-old Monga and 16-year-old Evans, they are due to sign scholarship deals while Aluko, 18, will sign a professional contract.

Good news if true, though I thought player had to be 17 to sign a professional deal.

Can sign scholarship deals at 16 which are usually 2 years with an option for a 3rd

They can then sign professional deals at 17

Thanks. Does a scholarship deal prevent the likes of L’pool poaching the player and falling back on a tribunal to agree a fee (thinking of the Nyoni case - where we are still to be paid I think)?

I think so

In the case with Nyoni, he actually turned down the scholarship offer from us to go to Liverpool

It’s incomprehensible that we can be deducted points for PSR breaches when we should have had up to £10M from Liverpool for Nyoni ,who has actually played for their first team ,to offset against it

Agreed. It’s this sort of thing and what Chelsea have done with buying / selling hotels to themselves which shows it’s one rule for them and another for everyone else. The powers that be don’t want anyone outside a favoured few competing at the top table.
