Should've tried for Kevin Denkey

27 goals and 2 assists in 38 games last season for Cercle Brugge

10 goals and 1 assist in 17 league games so far this season for them as well

Joined Cincinatti today ffs

24 and going to play in the MLS. Doesn’t seem very ambitious. You’d think if there was any interest from Europes bigger leagues he wouldn’t be joining an MLS side on January 1st.

That money was potentially spent on El Khannouss?

Might've been the money we pissed away on Skipp as well

There was definitely at least "2 bags of cash" for us last summer

Soule, Fotis, Bilal, Skipp were all £20m+ bids

Hopefully there was one for a midfielder, one for an attacking midfielder, and one for a striker that we still have (I doubt it)

Walker-Peters/New RB, Valentin Gomez, KDH/Winger, New Striker

               Hermansen

KWP, Okoli, Vestergaard, Gomez

            Winks, Soumare

         Facundo, KDH, Bilal

                  NEW ST

If we don't get KDH then Bilal at 10 and make it a new left winger

Walker-Peters/NEW RB pushing up the right like JJ does with Facundo coming inside, and Gomez tucking in to form a back 3 with Okoli and Vestergaard

Probably going to be 2 of those positions at most isn't it?

I would bin Edouard ASAP and get Zinchenko on loan (option to buy if we stay up) and go after Stefan Posch from Bologna (fallen behind Emil Holm in their pecking order but he's a big lad that can defend and is happy in a 4 or a 3).

Go back to what worked so well for us last season with the inverted fullback to build the box in midfield. I think this gets the best out of Winks, Soumare and El Khannouss.

Another right back i've always rated is Kenny Tete who is in the last 6 months of his contract. Castagne is in good form at Fulham so he isn't currently first choice.

Jerry St Juste at Sporting FC could be worth a look. We were linked a few years ago and he's had loads of injury issues but he's very talented and has been great for them recently. With Sporting's first choice centrebacks coming back from injury he could he available for transfer.

Fastest centre back in Europe as well which is much needed in our backline.

@CosbehFox shout of Andre Silva on loan from Leipzig as a replacement for Edouard might not be the worst business in the world if we've minimal funds. He's either sublime or atrocious and is due a spell ripping it up. Likewise Luka Jovic who's not doing much at Milan.

A winger is the absolute priority to me, as it should have been with a striker in the summer. We currently only really have 1 out and out wide player available at that's Mavididi who's been pretty rubbish. BEK and Facundo can play wider but you then lack really explosive pace and poor balance if you have both of them out there.

Obviously the defence is shocking but that takes 2/3 players to sort whereas 1 wide player who can potentially stretch the game, either from the start or off the bench would be a game changer and realistic if we're just getting 1 or 2 in.

To be fair JJ played his best football for us as a LB, could be an option as a back up on either side for VK and new rb

You’d take the risk of him at LB?????

Not for me, his confidence must be rock bottom.

Tim Lemperle

Suggested him last week. He's refusing to sign a new deal, we could get him on a pre-contract now but negotiate joining this month with a small fee to his club.

Philogene expected to leave on loan according to Percy's latest article. Just get it done! Easy, tap in!

If we send back Edouard then it's a possibility but that would be our two PL to PL loans, although not sure if under 21s count in that, if not then we might then be able to get another in.

I believe restrictions don't apply to players under the age of 21 or "homegrown" talents, who are defined as players who have spent time at their current club or another in the same country for at least three years between the ages of 15 and 21.

So we can loan as many U21 players as we want from the PL and abroad?

I still don't believe it applies to the PL rule. From what I read on the official PL website, we can't have more than two loans at any one time from English Clubs.

@Ric Flair

I think this is correct its a blanket 2 loan rule regardless of age from English leagues however it looks like you can have more if they are from overseas. Lets hope RVN has good Real madrid contacts

and i fact checked this and it looks like man utd in january 23/24 transfer window they had jack butland and wout weghorst and a player from bayern munich.

Not sure, didn't places say different things, need to dig out the PL handbook to be sure.

He's been one I've followed for a while. Didn't realise we were linked - but you're spot on, pacey and out of favour - would definitely be a good loan at the least.

I think the only issue is that he seems to have worked his way back into contention for them recently. They might not be as willing to let him leave as they would have a month ago.

Honestly mate I wouldn’t want to risk him at rb either at this point, just more from the reports of our finances right now
