Cooper saying he hasn’t seen the penalty claim has proper tickled me. Sort of shameless behaviour I can get behind

I said it in the Cooper Out thread but his petulance is actually quite refreshing to hear in a weird way. He's not very media trained. Very off the cuff remarks you'd expect more from a fan than manager.

He has proper rustled some knickers on the Ipswich forum. lol

Don't even think it should've been a penalty either. Chaplin's knocked the ball out of his own control and launched himself up in the air towards Fatawu, who was coming in but the contact was initiated by both.

Ipswich were the recipients of the worst ever refereeing performance in the 2000 play offs against Bolton. If any game was corrupted, it was that one. 24 years on, they have no right to be complaining about officiating decisions.

Bkg Sam certainly wasn’t happy about that game I remember.

Could it have been a penalty? Yes. But I have seen a hell of a lot more controversial ones this season. It's a subjective one and I certainly don't think it's as stone wall as is being made out.

It doesn't excuse Phillips blatantly deserving his second yellow. Bit like if you don't defend after a poor decision, you can't really blame what's come before. They can't be blaming everything else but themselves. I'm not just saying that because it's Ipswich, it's a criticism of us and especially Cooper too this season. This victimhood mentality gets you nothing but relegation.

The pitch side angle of our goal show so obviously that neither of Soumare's challenges are fouls. Tough guy Morsy in particular folded like a deck chair :giggle:

On the one hand , I like their fans appealing for everything,  shows they're not looking at their phones and are totally into the match.

On the other, they're still moaning about how it was an injustice and how corrupt the Prem is.

Surely now , after the game, they should have a more balanced view of it.

My mate ( who's 60) was messaging up to last night,  still crying about it😄

Penalty or not , McKenna massively fecked up by not subbing Phillips earlier when the game was getting a bit more physical in the central areas.

A lot of nice things have been said about McKenna and he's done a fantastic job, no doubt.

Saturday,  he made an error of judgement, which probably cost them 2 points

11 on the pitch and I'm fairly sure Ipswich would have seen it out

After the weekend to let this one settle in, its a decent point. We've played Ipswich, Saints and Palace away from home and not lossed any and picked up 5 points (should've been 7). The frustrating result this season is obviously the Everton one at home - aim should be not to lose to direct rivals away from home and win the home games.

10 from 10 is not a bad return, I think aiming for 10/12 after the first 10 most of us would've snapped the hand off to get that at the start of the season. The next 8 look very tough but we have West Ham and Wolves in that. 14 after 18 is probably scrap survival sort of form. 16/18 out of 18 games would be a really decent return.

The football is horrendous - there are times when we look like we will concede 6/7. for 60/70 mins against direct rivals like Saints and Ipswich, they've looked levels above us. However, lets keep riding the wave and picking up points. Survival is key this year but I'm certain Cooper is not a long term appointment.

Ipswich fans literally in TEARS after the weekend, acting as if it’s the biggest injustice the prem has ever seen. Utterly embarrassing and hilarious.

The fact they're adamant that the PL would fix a match so LCFC, the latest club to beat them in court, would win, is almost as laughable as their points tally. Said it in another thread, I know it's small time but I'm loving seeing them struggle.

I didn't mind Ipswich before last season, decent history and a nice old fashioned ground, but their fanbase annoyed me. Probably happens when you're going up against a team for so long but their fans seem to moan a lot. As does McKenna too.

I do like the fact they are struggling if I'm honest.

I agree with most of your post above, but in both games, I felt we had gears. We were frustratingly stuck in second for most of both games but we moved through the gears quite beautifully in a way neither of them were able to do.

I know we all point to saints having a man sent off, but we'd already pulled it to 2-2 at that point at 11 v 11

Been looking yesterday and today for Ipswich's own highlights. None this far.

I wanna here their commentators suffer as Ayew rolls it in. On repeat

Edit; just looked again. Nada. Oooo I bet they suffered and don't wanna show it. ITFC - announce highlights!

Not entirely accurate as Fraser saw red before we took the penalty to make it 2-2

Either way we looked poor against direct rivals until we had the man advantage in both games and that's a huge concern. Somehow less confident that I have been after that game on Saturday.

If that's Ipswich playing well as according to their fans on twitter, I struggle to have them beating anyone but us or Southampton. Nowhere near good enough. Apparently Philips played well? There was one moment where someone from our midfield burst through and it looked like he was treading water.

I think a lot of us underestimate how hard it is to win at a team who are desperate, crowd still up for it and committed to the manager.

I think lots of decent PL teams - Brighton, Forest, Newcastle - will have drawn Saturday, ridden a bit of a storm and be happy with a point.

Doesnt mean Ipswich are any good though
