And all the happy clappers will leave the ground with their flasks saying " well we tried ... you can't win em all ... bless them ... poor Steve Cooper there all trying their best " ...

there are actually people who sit next to me like this. No matter what they don’t seem to hold players or managers accountable

Over land and sea.. and Leicester.

Indeed.. gonna be brutal.. 0-5

That has always puzzled me.  Does anyone know the origin of that song and reason for the 'and Leicester' bit?

Been done a few times on here.

Motorway sign "and Leicester"

People have said it was from the 80s and 90s and the Hooligan scene. Chelsea Leicester had a big rivalry off the pitch cosidering the distance and then the Mcintyre undercover documentary came out and JM got sent down for it but yeah it's the motorway sign

This is exactly the sort of occasion where a horrid team with catastrophic injuries and a pony manager would get a comfortable 1-0 home win vs us and off we go with a string of bog roll hanging out our cheeks.

Can't even work out how on earth we set up for this with who's out injured, likewise for the foreseeable. This probably helps Cooper though in surviving as there's genuine excuses if his team keeps losing.

Hermansen

Justin

Faes

Vestergaard

Okoli

Kristiansen

McAteer

Winks

El Khannouss

Ndidi/Skipp

Mavididi (it'll be Reid 😂)

Edouard

The old try and sneek  12 players on Ric.

I see what you did there.

Can anyone remember a game at filbert street in the late 70s or early 80s when they closed the exits from the double decker either to let the Chelsea away fans out of the ground or be escorted away. I was there with my dad and brother and I’m sure I remember Chelsea fans charging us lot. I’ve always had a dislike for them since. I can’t recollect much about it as I was only a young one?

Worst trouble against Chelsea was the same day as Hillsborough

In those days, trouble was almost guaranteed against Chelsea, if memory serves.

My thoughts in rhyme :)

Chelsea like to steal the cream

From every Leicester winning team

They'll entice our boys away

With the promise of fame and lots more pay

But Chelsea has become a place where Foxes lie in wait

So in almost every case they just accept their fate

First there was Danny, then there was Ben but the saddest of them all

Was the 30 million take away of Keirnan Dewsbury Hall

KDH, come back home to the club where you belong

It was a bad call,  and after all,  Wonderwall's your song

Yes. I was there coming out of pen 2. Hordes of Chelsea fans at the bottom. Couldn’t get down or out. Exited via the pitch. Happy days 😳🥴

A long lasting memory for me, I was not quite 17 at the time. Easter Saturday 1980. Absolutely horrendous coming down the srairs at the back of pen 2 on the way out. Chelsea thugs attacking anyone and everyone for what seemed like an age before the Police eventually arrived at the scene.

Another comfortable defeat predicted by everyone on foxestalk and still ripped to shreds in the post match thread by everyone on foxestalk:brendan:

Don’t you think they should be criticised if they lose comfortably then? Just because it was predicted?

We oldies often joke about the "good old days", when you could get beaten to a pulp just going to a match.

But Chelsea fans were evil that Easter Saturday 1980.  Absolutely off their heads.  Not a laughing matter that day.

That’s exactly it. Trapped in the middle of stairs with our nutters at the op trying to get down. And their nutters at the bottom going mad. Interesting experience. Crushed to pieces.

Think they smashed up just about every pub on Charles Street before the game. Spread Eagle, Standard, Queen's, etc.

Not so much our nutters at the top, more like the so called 'brave ones' giving it large knowing they couldn't get down as everyone at the front was pushing back trying to get out of the way of a battering. Was a real crush and not a pleasant experience for those trapped (me included) near the front.

It was just a joke but now you've got me thinking......obviously they can be criticised but someone predicting a defensive line up, clueless tactics and no attacking threat and that same someone then goes and rants about a defensive line up, clueless tactics and no attacking threat in the pre match post.

Did they make a prediction but hope/expect better?

Not looking for a debate, like I said it was just a joke:brendan:

London bus effect. We've scored in every game followed by two blanks. Clean sheets impossible.

0-2.
