Rene Hake will likely be his assistant whi is a very experiences coach/manager but pretty much exclusively in Holland.

Rumours that David gill could replace rudders and John scales into the coaching setup

(I’ve started - must be loads more)

As per the post above, credits Enzo for helping him make the decision to join.

Enzo has hanged Ruud out to dry there.

Enzo had one of the best teams in the championship and ended up with a much better job at the end of it all.

Ruud is in for a relegation scrap and things will get ugly if there are no immediate signs of improvement :brendan:

Hope he does well  Never really took to Cooper managing us.

Hopefully keeps us up and we improve from then on. Who's to say that he would use us as a stepping stone if he does well with us. He may decide he likes it here and wants to stay.

He may even turn out to be another Fergie, who knows?

Could be exiting times ahead!

Where is this from?

Just wiki so has to be taken with a pinch of salt but i thought I'd check it out after seeing a few reports that he will be going with Ruud.

Can we get a poll going for when the first poster calls for his head? I’m going West Ham after a 0-2 humbling!

I'm guessing after Justin is shown as RWB on starting chart

Tryna think of the last time there was so much fanfare here over an incoming manager for the first time. Could make a case for Brendan I suppose given his reputation when he did arrive. Sven maybe?

Van Nistelrooy resigned in 2023 after winning the Dutch Cup and finishing second in the Eredivisie in his only season in charge - and he was not short of offers.

But, instead, he took a year out to learn from other coaches around the world at clubs such as Spanish giants Real Madrid and Argentine powerhouses Boca Juniors and River Plate.

"He's not a proud man in that way, he's not arrogant. He wanted to bounce his own ideas off others," Marcel van der Kraan, sports editor of Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, told BBC Sport.

I for one CANNOT WAIT to see every bugger in Wetherspoons in their new roll necks that they got for Christmas

What's the difference between a roll neck and turtle neck?

Am quite relieved it's not someone like Moyes.

Need a long-term project, and think RVN will be well part of it - as can imagine him wanting some stability and perhaps a trophy at some point.

Are we going to get behind him? I know there's a shit atmosphere due to a clique going every week and on here teaming up. I'm 35 and there's a majority that look down their nose at the fosse lads for trying to create an atmosphere! If you're one of these people your part of the problem. Too cool to sing. Get behind him and start supporting your team properly.... by singing! Cue the abuse! We will go nowhere without everyone on board!

People will get behind him, once we see that we are capable of playing football. Whatever Cooper was trying to do with his anti-football was an immediate cue to be negative.

I’d rather get relegated trying to play football and be entertained, than bored to sleep doing literally nothing.

It has been about as fun as watching paint dry, watching Coopers football.

Tbf mate, Cooper didn't do a bad job. We were competitive every game. Now that said for me he had to go because the fans didn't take to him and the players clearly stopped at man u in the cup. If he had the season we would have gone down. I hope they respect van nistelrooy. This seasons the most important in the last 20 years. We go down it's pike the old days. We stay up and I believe with signings there's another fairytale with the conference league

He just looked out of his depth. I personally think he needed other people around him to maybe push him in terms of his team selections and tactics at times. You could argue that in reality, we should be in the bottom three without luck.

It’s actually about more than the head coach in reality. RVN needs to get coaches in that the players will respect and engage with. That extra 1% you get from things like that, means they’ll run that bit further, get that bit fitter, play with more confidence etc

I actually believe we have some ability within this squad. It’s a massive loss having Fatawu and Ricardo injured, as they’d be my first pairing for the right hand side.

It’s going to be scrappy to get points, however I’m hoping we see a more expansive game. The best form of defence is still attack, so keeping the ball is key. Maresca knew that. It’s football 1-0-1 really, if you have the ball, the other team can’t score. If we can just retain out without booting it long to nobody, then it coming straight back, that would be an improvement.
