I agree that the squad clearly isn’t premier league quality. But I want to see something different tactically 3-5-2 and or with the personnel. You can’t keep doing the same thing with the same players and expect us to turn it around. 9 defeats from 10 games.
Doing the same thing and expecting a different outcome is baffling.

I think the Issue is from what I have seen the personnel bar Facundo deserve to be where they are, they have clearly shown nothing in training, and have failed to perform when played. I’d rather have Daka and Facundo in the team, maybe sack off one winger let Facundo and Bilal roam. Stick Daka on a wing or shove 2 up top.

Whatever the manager does he will get criticism, but he’s been served a shit sandwich on a wet paper plate. I’m not sure many are going to work with the structure of this club, no transfers etc. It’s been a mess since Enzo left and we’d have probably gone down under him too.

Going to go against the grain but the new Everton stadium looks class. It’s functional and not a complete hospitality hell hole until Tottenham. Unlike West Ham, fans are close to the pitch too. Aesthetically from the outside it’s as good as I’ve ever seen. It’s much closer to Liverpool centre in a historic part of the city going through gentrification (some class bars in walking distance). If they get it right, it could be a success imo.

Cooper had the team at it's freshest early season and lets be honest we were very lucky in most of those early games.  He also had NDiddi then before his injuryand Mads before his.

I'm not saying Ruud is the answer but Ruud has had to operate without both as well as not knowing the players he had to pick from. Ward in his first game a shining example.

You can actuly see structure and paterns of play in Ruuds teams. No he's not Enzo but given time and a chance to bring in his own signings I think he can do a job here.

Many Fans wanted Enzo out early doors and look were he has Chelsea in half a season.

Our current problems are more to do with the quality of the squad and that's down to Rudkin, Glover and Cooper and Rogers. Not Ruud.

When he get's to sign a couple of his own players then we'll see how good he can be. But at least he had the players putting in a real effort last Saturday.

If he can keep that level of committment from them we're bound to win some more games despite the failings within the squad.

By the end of the season rvn will be down their statistically with our worst ever managers and his structure and philosophy that some wax on about just looks to me like a poorly executed possesion based 4231. We can't go into a new season with the same demoralised team and manager who probably wont even acquire 25 points.

And your banking on him being some sort of master talent spotter cos if he's not you're largely relying on serial failures glover and rudkin for new players, assuming we can sign anyone full stop.

We need as fresh a start as possible next season and I see no advantage in keeping a guy who at best will have got 3 or 4 mostly fortunate wins in around 2 thirds of a season. Also he picked Ward against wolves despite already having seen 45 minutes of the hopeless twat against Newcastle. Pretty much a sackable event on its own!

Surely it's Glovers signings that are to blame. I'm not having that Cooper specifically demanded all of Reid ayew and skipp. Glover gets off far lighter than he should. The only player recruited since he's been here who wel make a profit on is hermansen. He's yet another one who needs booting out.

Maybe Glover also at fault, but surely Cooper said that he wanted Prem experience which is why we put Ayew & BDCR, at least, down to him. It could also explain Skipp, too.

They are not the best front 3 we have.
It’s not saying a lot but Mavidi, Bounatte and Vardy are. His obsession with experienced pl players is shocking.

Not to mention our outstanding youth forwards who might well fare better but are never tried.

If Ruud leaves, which I don’t he will, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if they went for Rohl.

100%, would probably be a good fit for Championship success, even with a potential points deduction.....if we did go down.

RVN is not a Maresca type manager…..he is an ex player who is a novice manager and should be plying his trade in the lower leagues to build a reputation.

He should never be here and the sooner he’s gone the better.

He won’t do anything in the Chamoionship

Agreed in the main, I think he saw the dollar signs after the surprise Man. United rebuff and so jumped at the chance of managing a Premier League side but he was still something of a panic appointment, given his lack of experience at this level. However neither Moyes or Potter wanted it at the time so the board were in something of a quandary at the time I guess....

The fact (which I believe it is) that our board targeted two managers who couldn’t really be more different in playing style & philosophy speaks volumes.

At Brighton, for example, they’ll already have 3-4 names as potential future managers, all playing a similar style to the present and previous managers.

Moyes & Potter - I ask you! Confirms the clownish process that saw them flip from Scott Parker then flop on a hunch to Enzo

Strange bones of a board over the past little while indeed!

The issue is if Ruud has genuinely been lied to about funds in January and the ability to bring in his own players then has the damage been done, is the relationship damaged beyond repair, I really cannot see how Ruud stays beyond this season, it’s just a matter of when he leaves rather than if.

I quite like some of his rhetoric regarding the protest - been a bit clocked out lately to be honest so only just catching up. He could've taken an easier stance than what he did take.

He's not going to work here. I'm 90% sure of that (probably more than 90%) but there has been the odd thing he's said and done that I've quite liked to be honest. I don't dislike the bloke.

Yes I agree I don’t dislike him either but sadly he is clueless as he does not seem to be flexible or know our best team - it’s weird he seems to make so many basic errors - mind this squad was never ever staying up

Love to know who you think we will beat as I cannot see a win and whilst I sympathise with RVN he is clueless and limited imo but we were busted in the summer with probably the worst and most ridiculous transfer window ever - Skipp, Okoli, BCDR, Ayew, Edouard made no sense when you add Vesty contract it is nothing short of shambolic

Disagree

RVN will achieve nothing at this club and his record is truly appalling.

In any other situation he would be dismissed by now.

He has zero experience as a manager and would be lucky to be managing a League 2 side.

If he remains after relegation we will plummet down the championship into obscurity.

wever, nobody can deny that so far the results have not improved under Ruud. More structure has not yet brought us more points. And while he has taken steps to improve the defence by reintroducing Okoli

Are we to give him credit for reintroducing a player that he alienated for 11 games that was part of the defence that kept the only clean sheet of the season and picked up 7 points from the 8 games he started, instead opting for Coady (a player that could barely get a sniff in out championship team) for 10 games that saw us concede 21.

Just as he has missed key players  in Mads and Ndidi, he has failed to utilise Okoli and Facu on a horrendous run of results which is another red flag.

Yeah this is where I’m at. I think in a normal situation he would be quite good actually. But the stats don’t lie and we’ve conceded more goals and scored less than we did under cooper. We have got worse.

I agree that his weird reluctance to use Okoli and Buonanotte are major red flags. He has belatedly changed his mind on Okoli and we have immediately looked more solid at the back. My only explanation for his persistence with BDCR and Ayew is that he is prioritizing trying to make the team more disciplined and harder to play against, and he believes that they give us more solidity than Buonanotte and Mavididi, etc (even though many, including me, would regard this as a flawed assumption). What he does next will tell us a lot. It's clear that scoring goals is a major problem for us and that if he doesn't try to correct that very soon (eg by starting Facu and including Evans on the bench), we'll just slip quietly down into the Championship without causing any ripples. I suspect he will change things, though - he has to.
