West Ham battered us that game. A better team would have scored at least 3 goals.

they really didn't, they had a lot of long range pops but very few chances of real significance

How has he not been sacked yet?

To save yourself the bother of typing this out after each of our remaining games, you could just copy and paste it.

I thought they did. Bowen could have had a hat trick. Pretty sure it was the most shots they’ve ever had in a Premier League game !

it was the most shots they've ever had. their xG was on a par with ours, the goal and one blocked by Coady were the only chances of note though: https://understat.com/match/26738

it was a lot of low quality shots from tight angles and long distances. High shot number is not the same as creating a lot of chances.

I've had it copied and ready to go from back when Rodgers was here

God it was so wonderful for a couple of weeks.

Right up to the team coming out for the 2nd half against Newcastle, I had dreams of grandeur.

We were going to rise up the league playing fast, attractive, attacking football, he was gonna turn Daka into prime Vards and a plethora of signings in January from the Man Utd youth academy plus some absolute gems from his contacts on the continent were gonna see the good times back.

Ah man.

I spent £50 on fooking roll necks and never got the chance to wear them.

You need to rethink your name.

Don’t agree. I was there and on another day, Bowen gets a hat trick. Something amiss that night; even Daka scored!

on another day Bowen doesn't get a hat trick because he had one shot of note. Like if you wanna play even Daka scored, dakas goal was actually a better chance than the vast majority of the ones that Bowen had. You can take your vibes based analysis if you want, the facts are that West Hams ton of shots were by and large, very low quality chances regardless of the quality of finishing

Genuinely don’t feel strong enough about us right now  to even defend or attack this team so won’t bother getting into a debate with you on this. Anyone watching the game would have said the scoreline massively flattered us. Football is played on grass.

Jeez, I feel your pain! Those four points from West Ham and Brighton was the biggest false dawn ever re "those" two weeks! Followed by..........12 losses from 13 with a reasonable win in the cup against a Championship side and a lucky win against Spurs B team sandwiched in between!

RVN sucks!!!

Just had some time for useless stats:

Dean Smith coached us in Spring 2023 for eight matches. With him we went 2-3-3 = 9 points, which equates to 1.125 ppg.

If Dean Smith's (in retrospect, amazing) 1.125 ppg were a benchmark from Day 1 of 2024/25 season, we'd be in 14th now, one point below MU. Granted, we had a much better team overall in 2023, but we also had Danny Ward to balance that...it's like starting every match with a -2 handicap.

Heck, the despised Steve Cooper went 12=2-4-6 (0.83ppg). With him we'd theoretically have 24 points, in 18th,  just 2 points below the Wolves, not 9, as now.

RVN must go NOW, like today. Top had to dismiss him one week ago, so the team would be prepared by the new manager during the much needed 2-week long break. Top is, unfortunately, fully incompetent and, worse, probably thinks otherwise. Even if that manager is Andy King, drop RVN immediately!

He's not going anywhere. The higher ups can stomach one managerial change but not 2 in a season. They probably know this is a very slow car crash into the wall of relegation so no point avoiding it. Maybe they think just take the EPL money, let contracts lapse and then kid themselves that was the plan all along.

He won't be sacked, but come the inevitable relegation he will be offered and accept a better job elsewhere - (clearly not difficult to find) - and walk away.

Like Cooper he was never the man for the job (although Cooper did much better) but who can blame either for taking the riches offered by our (to be generous) clueless owner and hapless board.

I can't find a single thing atm to like about our club, rotten in every department.

Being realistic here, unusual on FT, he can only work with the tools he was given.  Add in the Dufkin factor and the summer transfer  window car crash, even Pep might struggle to polish so many turds??
