Nigel did a couple of interviews in April when he said he was recovering from both back injuries and a “neurological” issue but I don’t think he got into specifics. Either way, glad he has been doing well all things considered and definitely hoping whatever prognosis he gets will be encouraging!

What happened to him? Was it related to his back issues?

Neurological, largely.

Also had a heart issue.

Not sure if one happened because of the other.

Oh man easily

I’ve been thinking about this. Easy to dismiss him for others who won trophies, but there isn’t many who left us (albeit under a cloud) having left the club in such a good position relative to where he found us. If he isn’t the best, then he’s among the very best - but he’s got a bloody good case.

What a man, I hope he makes a full recovery. My parents met him a few years ago in Bristol and they both said what a lovely chap he was - think it made my Dad's day (he's always been a big City fan). All the best, Nige!

He was one of the reason for our recent success. His hard work will never be forgotten. Without him we'll probably be in the championship like Coventry.

The whole world smiles with you, Big Nige!

Fully agree. Makes me feel sick when some mention Rodgers in the same bracket.

I think you have been dreaming.

I have NEVER heard anyone say anything of the sort.

Went through something similar in my 20's, which effectively stopped my footballing in it's tracks.

Had spinal surgery and an 18 month recovery.  Wishing Big Nige all the best.. if anyone deserves to come through this kind of thing, it's him.

Not the place to start a controversial debate imo when Nigel is leaning to walk again.

Hardly controversial.

Just feels strange that even if you don’t agree you choose a thread about him learning to walk again to post something so controversial.

Again it's not controversial or strange.

I was replying to someone's post in the thread hardly like I randomly said it.

But each to there own.
