When was the last time the club came across well in a news story? They just do themselves no favours whatsoever

Just carry the smaller son in your arms when you go in then put him in the photo. 
 

Don’t even acknowledge he’s there for the photo and if they ask just say the older one is having the photograph.

 

If it’s in the club shop, surely anyone can go in but not anyone can have the photo? 
 

Then as your turn comes, just let the 2 join the photo. 
 

This is one of those situations where being brazen will win. Go for it

Could the specific number issue be driven by Vardy’s agent? In other words it might not be the club, though they are useless in many ‘behind the scene’ aspects.

 

Good luck sorting it. Ridiculous at the best of times, but particularly around Christmas.

Yeh like others have said use the cksssic manouvre of taking your other son with you and say you have no one else to watch him and he’s here now so can he come too? Tell her son to start crying on cue than let’s see heartless the staff wanna be. If that don’t work ask your son to really scream “I wanna see Vardy too!”

Whichever berk is in charge of these things should have been sacked ages ago. Along with the marketing team, ticket office, Director of Football and many more..

Exactly. Once you’re away from the robots and meet some actual people, it’s easy to find one who looks helpful and get things sorted.

If it works the same as their other ticket ballot events, they won't be checking ID. Security at the door will ask for names, cross check it against a printed paper list, and possibly ask to see the ballot success email on your phone. 

 

I would suggest you wait in the car and forward the email to the older son's phone in case it's asked for. Tell the older son to pretend your name is actually his (and therefore he becomes the guardian), and bring the younger son in with him (and if they ask the younger son's name, to say it is the older son's).

 

I don't think security will care as long as you give two names which match the two names on their paper, as you are not bringing extra numbers.

Surely it makes sense to do these things by household. Even if it didn't occur to them initially, surely someone like the OP comes along and you go "oh bollocks, yeah that makes total sense, we'll make an adjustment"

 

Honestly, it's hard to like or respect the people who run the club and the absolutely personality-free drones that work for them.

I get their reasoning, but they really should be thinking about siblings, shouldn't they, before even running the competition. Especially when you're doing it at Christmas and not the middle of the year. 

 

Merry Christmas son, squeeze your face up close to the widow and you might see the brother you already slightly despise get a photo with a club legend.

Yeah, I've calmed down a bit. Fair enough they have their rules but the fact I wasn't asking for/expecting any more tickets - just to swap my name for my son so he can be on the photo. Just laughable. 

 

Spoke to family/mates earlier who include Villa & Sutton season ticket holders. I know Villa in particular are not well known for being fan friendly recently but even they were in hysterics about how idiotic the club are.
