We're not owned by king power group anymore. Why do we need to align?

I think the only reason they changed companies house from King Power to Top was so that we could pump more money in through the KP sponsorships.

Either that or they're retaken control.

Remember according to companies house Top has been in sole control since 2019, but we didn't register that detail until 2024.

Could well be that KP already regained ownership a while back but it's not been filed.

Top is listed because of Companies house guidance, it doesn’t mean that King power no longer owns the club

The Companies House guidance says a Person of significant control (PSC) should normally be individuals who ultimately own or control the company; if a foreign company is in between, the UK company still has to identify the real person behind that structure.
•    Many UK companies simplify things by putting the controlling individual on the PSC register rather than a foreign holding company,

See that feels less like an admin decision and more of a bigger issue when you read into it.

"It's regrettable that I have been unable to relay this with greater notice"

Why haven't you been able to? Why has this been such a quick decision? What does aligning with the group actually do?

Would make sense if they used the same payroll system or back office teams but they don’t

Club is ran completely separate, can only be a cash thing imo

I’m not sure this is a cash thing. What I do think is it’s a result of incompetence, inexperience and disorganization at the top of the club. Screams the new exec forgetting to do something and having to scramble last minute

I'd really, really like to know the reason they so desperately needed to change and realign the HR payroll admin one day before December payments were due?

If it's not financial related and is purely HR then it's a disgraceful mismanagement. Do it four months ago, or take whatever admin hit you need and realign from January.

To do it now is not just a PR disaster, it causes pain to families, long-serving employees who don't earn the earth and makes you look even more incompetent than the sane section of your fanbase already believes you are.

It's just rubbish, it's rubbish all round. Not even an apology in that email to staff "we can appreciate the timing of this decision is not ideal". Ya don't say.

Its largely due to incompetence but it also appears a lot of things are up for sale. There's been rumours that Top's 'spending' has caused them to be losing cash reserves at an alarming rate for a while.

Absolutely shocking and alarming.

Please though, can we avoid the inter fan witch hunting? It achieves nothing positive.

Is there a positive to be taken from this?

I believe its a courtesy thing being paid early more than anything Stan.

Yeah I get that mate.

But it's the lack of notice which is irkint people, rightly so I'd say.

A days notice for not getting paid is wrong.

I'd imagine it's not a decision that was made internally by the club on the day either, they'd have been considering this for a while?

It’s corporate speak for “we forgot and I don’t want to admit it”.

As an aside, getting paid on the last day of the month sounds horrific lol

I like to have those 4 or 5 days where I get to look at my bank balance before it all vanishes.

At the very least, how senior and incredibly well paid “execs” could not see that this would be fired back in this way is the most alarming thing.

Being in the press is a good thing for the club. Losing the nice guy, great owners rubbish tag is of paramount importance for the future of the club.

Imagine a multi million pound business behaving this way. And these are the people we're meant to entrust with our football club. Forget all the bullshit Top came out with, you're not welcome anymore and the day you leave should be marked with a Vicky park celebration with a mystery guest (Kasabian)

I'd like to think some of the players make a nice gesture and help the staff out but I'm doubtful we have those kind of personalities at the club. Maybe a Fatawu and Ricardo but past that I don't see it

Since weve been owned by King Power you'd think this is a TV script similar to Dream Team its become that dramatised. Whatever you can think up could actually happen to us.

My sense is that this must be a cash flow issue, whether that's due to bad planning or something more sinister is what's not clear to me.

There is no reason why making payroll payments early is going to cause any issues with alignment to other entities in the group (not that we're even owned by the KPG). Payroll reporting to HMRC is done on a monthly basis and whatever date they're paid will fall into the same month end accounting cycle, there's virtually no administrative issues caused by changing the date the BACs is sent, just a cash flow impact.

Not to mention the reputational hit as an employer and a business as public as a Football Club, there's no cause other than a lack of cash flow that would make you do this. The only other reason I can come up with is Malice?

Excuses should not be made for this. Benefit of the doubt should not be given for this. The easier we make it for them after the first time, means the likelier it is to happen again. We just need to look at Sheffield Wednesday for that.

We have been ignoring or downplaying the warning signs for too long but there is a line and families not being paid has definitely crossed it.

Last line is interesting.... trying to get a load of people to leave of their own accord in the new year?
