King Power Out

When we are purchased, I hope they rebrand the stadium immediately, then pull down anything associated with King Power.

It feels like we are the end of a marriage that started gloriously then turned into a bloody disaster-class.

I’m still not convinced we’ve hit rock bottom and whilst we’ve been good in pre season, I can still see more leaving without anyone coming in other than freebies, to bolster a squad that lacks experience.

In a competitive game, I can see us getting bullied.

The sooner this is over, the better.

Its mad to me how we are favourites to go up.

Our team is essentially our academy, conor chaplin and a bunch of misfits who dont really want to be here and we cant shift.

The mis management is off the scale. Surely even the Facebook lot are looking at the squad and thinking weve sold 50m and we still cant buy anyone 3 weeks out from the start of the season. Its a disaster that most of us on here saw coming.

At least 5 of those from the academy are at the age to make this their break out and stand out season. A few more are knocking at the door and could surprise during the year. Support them rather than just casting them off as ‘the academy’.

I get the point, but it’s an enormous risk isn’t it for a club that probably can’t afford to take one.

I don’t think any of the youth strikers are likely to be strong enough to lead a team to promotion at this point in time either.

They’ll get support.

I just think we need to temper reality a bit. They might be ready to step up, however this group were not even dominating the age group they were playing with last season.

Reality is that we are favourites due to our name, perceived ability to throw cash around and anyone who scratches the surface must surely now know that isn’t going to happen.

The academy graduates are great, however we can’t rely on them. They’ll need help around them and that comes through experience.

At this stage, I think we’ll be closer to mid / bottom of the table as lots of people are under estimating League 1 as some poor quality league.

We're going into the season like we've done for the past five or six I'll equipped to deal with the league we're in, let alone get promoted out of it which some seem too think we will.

I've even started feeling sorry for RM as he's in a long line of manager's that will have once again been let down by the owner. All while that owner driving positivity and an expectation we will be ok.

I'm very happy to see our youngsters doing so well and I hope we build around them. But they're are glaring holes in that team (striker anyone) that look likely to either be in adequately addressed late on in the window or not at all.

I really hope for the best and I will take a lot of pride fully supporting those players (especially the youngsters) who put in an effort this season. But I can't see past the KP pattern of behaviour leaving the club ill equipped (full of misfits) trying to play RM's possession style staring down the barrel of administration.

Best be realistic in expectations but I'll support the team and hope these youngsters can achieve something remarkable.

Because the best players from it were either on loan (Alves, Braybrooke, Evans) or knocking on the first teams door, with a few getting significant time in the first team ( Aluko, Page). Ochere had great stats in PL2 and Hutchinson continues to impress each time he stepped up.

It would have been wrong if the academy teams were dominating the PL2.

The feat of winning the Premier league will never be achieved again, and i very much doubt we'll win the FA Cup again in my life time. Should the people that helped us achieve this not be remembered and cherished at all costs, despite how it's ending? I get all the criticism but just think back to that special day when we lifted that title.. very very special.

Favourites by club name only.

There will be a few more members of that rotten core group gone in the next few days, and we'll have some new signings, as well.

What we have now is a half-ready squad that is still in the process of taking shape and that needs sensible reinforcements. Youth and experience alike.

I'm willing to give the team the benefit of the doubt, my expectations are low.

With a few exceptions, King Power have done an extremely poor job since Vichai died.

Have they finally come to their senses? Either you take this club seriously. Or you sell it to somebody who cares.

Vichai got a lot, lot more right that Top. That’s why the ownership should always be looked at in two parts.

However, we owe as much to Ranieri, Walsh, Shakespeare, Pearson and lots of unsung heros behind the scheme. Even then; that team to survive was built on a shoestring. They built that team on a budget and achieved a miracle.

King Power capitalised on it and gets thrown associated as ownership, but in reality, it’s a bit like the bank getting credit for funding a business you grow from 1p to £10,000,0000,000. They’ll have had some involvement, however it’s the people and team that deserve the credit and did the graft to create it.

Pearson and Shakespeare persisted with Vardy.

Walsh and the team he built identified Kante and Mahrez.

We built a smart model of identifying players, which we have deviated from and it’s been a bit of a mess since.

King Power deserve credit for getting the right person in and letting them have the autonomy to run it.

That might be controversial and upset some people, I get it.

King Power are going to destroy us as well though, through incompetence.

It was Vichai at the helm for the premiership, it went starkly down hill after Top took over and effectively absolutely ruined his father’s work. Why would anyone want to remember him fondly, he could have put us out of business!

This is my concern it’s one thing playing well in a friendly, but a competitive league is something else.

People are falling into a false sense of confidence, we’ve an academy squad, and no senior striker at the club…..  few people will be in for a nasty shock on the opening day. I still maintain in this current condition we’re going down .
