1-2 i think we will give Villa a game, but my thoughts are we will be 0-2 down before we actually start getting into the game. There draw against Brighton didn't help. meant theyll be really up for this.

A very good ground for us, even Tete scored here.

I’m going for a battling 1-2 win, and Vardy to wind up the Holte End with the winner.

Villa have flattered to deceive in the league with all their eggs in the European basket hoping it is 1982 again. -3 goal difference suggests mid table mediocrity. The pressure is on them to come at us. We shouldn't be that fearful. Another early goal on the break for us and their whinging crowd will be out in force. Got to believe we can get something here.

If we can take our chances we can win this one, and we need to be getting unlikely points if we are to stay in this league. Positivity is the way. Vardy is due a brace if he plays and Choudhury seems able to ping some crosses into the box if he plays down the wing.

2-4 Leicester win and I’m working with a Villa fan on Monday.

We are having a problem scoring in the last four we aren't getting four.  We need a new centreback, two new fullbacks and a new striker in the January window.  Don't think we will get anywhere near what we need or want.

I don't think we've got the minerals required to grind out an away win (except at woeful Southampton if the ref gives us a little assistance). And Villa are still pretty formidable at home (they have the 4th best home record).

Everything points to a routine Villa win. But I guess that's why they play the games, right?

You sometimes get unexpected results this time of the season with the games coming thick and fast. See Ipswich beating Chelsea, and boy do we need one.

We need Villa to have a bad day though, could see us knicking a undeserved point, 1-1.

I’ll be doing everything I can to encourage us to score and win, including not making a match thread again (we’re 0-2 when I start them, 1-6 on goals).

I remember 2001, we were rock bottom in December of that year without a single away victory. Villa were sixth only one defeat at home... somehow we won 2-0!

Even with injuries, Villa at home are far superior to us. Our hope this next round is that Forest don’t roll over for Wolves. And Chelsea and Fulham do us a favour too. We’ve got no chance against them, especially away.

Everyone bar Southampton are far superior home and away.

I agree. I do think we’ll get the odd win at home but away from home against these sort of sides, it adds an extra element of pressure.

I was at that one, Scowcroft got one, can’t remember the other scorer.

Akinbiyi.

Btw check out the state of our squad. How on earth did we win?

Now you would have thought that I’d remember Akinbiyi scoring, as it was so rare.

Been here a few times over last couple of years as we have some hospitality seats with work, they really get on the teams back if they aren’t playing well/losing.

I am going Saturday in the home end and really not looking for to it, I can’t see anything the the inevitable but it would be Leicester to win 2-0 with a clean sheet

Was in a similar situation in 2002 when we shit housed a 2-0 under Dave Bassett when Frank Sinclair shoved Peter Schmeichel in the net at set piece. Villa fans going crazy. Was pure comedy.

After a positive display against ManCity & Michael Oliver I’m not so worried we always seem to pick up our game against Villa, it’s quite often an entertaining fixture so I’m going for a 1-2 win for city with Bilal & Buenanotte getting our goals

Tbh the squad in 2002, was even worse than the current lads and they got a result at Villa. Think Villa had some decent players at the time Angel, Vassell (future fox), Barry, Mellberg, Hitzleberger, Hendrie (another future fox) cant remember if boateng was still there then. He was good at mboro.

The fact is that we haven’t scored in 3 games this is a real problem, I think we need nididi back asap , hope we make 2-3 decent signings , but quality , not kids , we need blokes who can hold on to the ball
